New Line TV's 'Masterminds' a go for Sept.
LAS VEGAS -- New Line Television said Thursday that it has cleared Masterminds, the Court TV series that chronicles the "daring heists of the world's most cunning thieves," in more than 70% of the country, declaring it a firm go for its September launch in syndication. The most recent stations clearing the weekly one-hour show include KVVU Las Vegas, WRBU St. Louis, WZRB Columbia, S.C., WRBJ Jackson, Miss., and KCRA/KQCA Sacramento, Calif.

'Masterminds' sentenced for fall
New Line Television has cleared Masterminds, the Court TV series that chronicles "the daring heists of the world's most cunning thieves," in more than 60% of the country, including all of the top 10 markets, for its fall launch in syndication. Top-market clearances for the weekly, one-hour series include WNYW/WWOR New York, KCAL/KCBS Los Angeles, WFLD/WPWR Chicago, WTXF Philadelphia, KBWB San Francisco, WFXT Boston, KDFW/KDFI Dallas, WTTG/WDCA Washington, WSB Atlanta and WJBK Detroit. Masterminds is being offered on a straight barter basis.

Court TV to distribute 'Masterminds'
New Line Television said Wednesday that it's planning to distribute the Court TV series Masterminds in syndication, with 26 hourlong episodes available starting in fall 2006. The real-life caper series gives viewers the inside stories of such criminal acts as bank robberies, jewelry heists and corporate embezzlement. "We're very excited to offer 'Masterminds' to stations for fall 2006," said David Spiegelman, senior executive vp domestic television distribution and marketing at New Line TV.
