This is a very standard piece of fare with two rivals for a girl (the one - not of course our hero - supported by the father) have to fight it out in a local sporting competition.
The film was reproduced by Pathé-Baby/Pathescope on 9.5m as Une belle et deux champions/Two Suitor Champions, which is the only version I have seen. Even in this version, the titlecards have "matchstick men" illustrations, the unmistakable signature of Norman McLeod.
The competitions include golf and diving but the most interesting, because at this time entirely a new phenomenon is a pogo stick race ("jumping kangaroo?" is Mcleod's comment). The pogo stick had only recently been invented by two Germans, by Max Pohlig and Ernst Gottschall (Po+Go) who took out their patent in Hanover, Germany in March 1920. As the lady in question (Jobyna Ralston) has refused to marry the brute (I do not recognise the actor) unless he wins ALL the competitions, it is this new sport (with a little help from a goat) that allows simple bird Parrott to defeat his rival's expecttions....
