Great Movie
wolfface8 January 2005
Fraeulein Phyllis is a great movie by the young Director Clemence Schoenborn. I have seen it in Moscow and Braunschweig on Film Festivals and I only can recommend it for Independent Movie Fans. A great Sophie Rois (I know her from Salzburg and Berlin) in connection with some unknown Cast members. A really well done black Comedy. I hope I can see a few more Comedies of this Type from Austria. Austrian Film is a must for Filmmaniacs, this pure style of Film and Music is a great Alternative to the American Big Budget movies. Also the style of the costumes and the set dressing is it worth to be seen. I don't know more films by Clemence Schoenborn, was this his first full length feature, if so it is a great thing and we can hope that he will make more films like that.

Breaking hearts, breaking bones
richard_sleboe6 February 2008
Out of the blue, forty-something Phyllis finds herself surrounded by a host of small-time actors starring as fellow doctors in a run-of-the-mill TV show: slick Walter, lovable Henry, crazy Doris. Phyllis keeps it real, but somehow manages to out-act them all over the course of this delightful black comedy. Clemens Schönborn's debut feature is light, but tasty - a combination just as rare in movies as it is in snacks. "Fräulein Phyllis" is a fresh and funny variation of the classic "what a girl wants" theme. The fabulous Sophie Rois with her cheeky smiles, raspy singing, and reckless driving makes a perfect Phyllis, leaving a trail of broken hearts and garbled bodies in her wake. She's always one lie, or one kill, ahead of the game. Watch out for Gudrun Tielsch and her fresh take on the old-time favorite of the crazy dog lady. Charming jazzy score by Max Knoth. Notable appearance by Lukas Miko as a self-righteous sex tourist turned unsuspecting drug mule.
