"The Simpsons: Family Therapy" is an animated short film from 1989 and the title gives away already that these 80 seconds are about the yellowest family on the planet, actually from very briefly before the show started almost 30 years ago. There are several of these snippets, quite a few actually by Matt Groening closely linked to the Tracey Ullman show. Here the dysfunctional family sets off to see a shrink who may need one himself after they are finished. But at least it got them closer to each other again eventually. There were some funny parts here, the "I lied.", Marge's resignation, the escalation at the end... certainly quite a lot for this running time, which is why I believe that this was pretty good for its runtime and it is certainly among the better, maybe best, from these very early and very brief Simpsons short films. I give it a thumbs-up. Worth checking out.
