The audience caught the spark from it and rippled and roared

A rattling good comedy that plainly pleased a large audience. The fun comes from the difference in the appearance of a character when seen in a different environment. To get such a situation over as fun to an audience demands naturalness, sincerity. It has been attempted before in pictures; but we do not remember seeing it so well done. It's the girl and cowboy again, but that makes no real difference; the audience caught the spark from it and rippled and roared. In the west, the cowboy seemed a hero to the romantic girl from the east. But he came on a visit to Boston, he and his pal. He didn't cease to be a man, not one whit, but the hero-glamour soon wore very thin. East didn't meet West very well. It's a pity it wasn't more clearly photographed, for it was very well acted and set. Mr. Hobart Bosworth plays the cowboy. - The Moving Picture World, February 24 1912
