Horrible followup, so they pulled the plug
lor_11 August 2015
Part 3 of Roy Karch's misguided HOTEL O (as in "Othello" for punsters) series reminded me of those unfortunate TV series ("Vanished" a few years back is a good example) where the network gets sick of low ratings or plummeting ratings and puts the show out of its misery before the story arcs can be completed. This awful third installment sets up endless characters and story material for supposed future editions but it's all left hanging.

Feature starts off miserably with a new actor playing Willy, the idiotic desk clerk at Hotel O who's a honky but insists on speaking in a "Black" manner. He mumbles something about a shift from Venice to Santa Monica, and sure enough, the atmospheric set of Parts 1 and 2 for Hotel O is replaced by a bare bones setting -no lobby for folks to sit in, and Willy has to buzz anyone in the door upon request.

No sooner has this shock to the system sunk in, than star Nina Hartley discusses how she misses O.T. (that's Othello, played by Lexington Steele up till now), wondering where he is. So does the audience, since Othello without Othello just isn't Othello, even in a stupid Roy Karch ripoff. All Willy can offer about O.T.'s whereabouts is "Some say he's in Costa Rica, some say he's in Compton". Well, that narrows it down. I suspect he's at Jules Jordan's mansion, shooting a more lucrative project.

Nina's left in charge of the hotel/brothel now, and Marcus (as in Mr. Marcus) is her new main squeeze, a pimp like O.T.

Chloe Black turns a trick with long-haired Reno, continuing the series' mixed- combo action (I believe it was part of Video Team's ethnic label dubbed Afro- Centric). The lighting attributed to James S. Mitchell is horrendous for this opening sex scene: too dim, and completely distorting Chloe's skin tone, at times giving her Black beauty the impression of extreme tan lines. Reno doesn't use a condom, and this third edition is condom-free, reflecting audience demands.

Marcus returns and humps Nina. Nadia Rio "does weed" as she says in the Behind the Scenes short subject, meaning she humps the Black actor named Weed.

Randy Spears pops up (in a decidedly down-market role for the Hall of Famer, paired with Havana Ginger. Her room is occupied so they hump in a bar. It is disappointing to see Ginger pre-op: with small, droopy breasts, pierced nipples, but those same huge aureolae which would become her money-makers once she did some serious nip/tuck. After his money shot, Spears phones in -apparently he's a Fed planted undercover at the Hotel O.

Byron Long, absent since Part 1, returns and has a strong hump session with the beauty Lauren Phoenix, whose deep throat technique on Byron's big dick is impressive. Feature ends quite clumsily with Hartley getting a phone call (we can't hear the other end of the conversation). She reacts to it being O.T., and leaves the viewer hanging for the next episode, which never was made.

There are three or four major characters left snooping around or plotting against O.T. at the end of this farrago, and MIke Horner as Dr. Go is planning revenge at the big fellow once he gets out of stir. Mercifully, this sad saga instead ends here with a whimper, signifying nothing.
