It Began As A Wildcat
boblipton21 March 2021
The wildcat strike by a few baby nurses quickly became a general action. Nurses set their charges on the ground and walked off the job in protest of..... well, the usual complaints, I suppose. The police were called in, but found themselves overwhelmed. Counter-demonstrations by children ensued, and by the time it was over, one policeman was dead.

It's a nice little satire of the labor movement, with enough bile for everyone, and the large, middle-aged women who apparently made up the nurses of the era quite capable of taking care of any and all opposition. Clearly, once the nurses start leaving their jobs, everyone involved in a strike, from the strikers, to the scabs, to the police called in to arrest everyone are worthy of some disinterested contempt.
