At a tavern, the Pathe corps de ballet does a bit of a dance. This impels a guy who wears a bandana to stab someone else, then run home and, when the police show up, run away and eventually get into a gun battle with them.
At first I thought they were supposed to be gypsies, then decided it was someone from south of Paris: Sicilians, perhaps, or maybe Corsicans. Whichever place, it's an excuse for a bit of a chase movie, then watching a bunch of people get shot. Once it starts going it's good, but I can't tell if the idea is to not get involved in shenanigans with these people, or maybe avoid dancing exhibitions.
