Final Update, Monday 4:49 Pm Pt: Across the Top 10 major studio releases internationally there’s reason for some holiday cheer. This weekend’s figures are up 19.4% over last frame with The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies leading the pack at $89M, plus strong perfs from Exodus: Gods And Kings in new key markets and the Night At The Museum finale. Still, that result is down from last year, largely due to the impact that Frozen was having on the season with a $50.5M take in the comparable frame. Five Armies in the estimates is also about 9.3% off from Smaug’s performance last year, but there are those nasty currency fluctuations to take into account.
Still, it a big weekend for local titles. Last frame’s Indian release Pk added Bollywood flair to the international box office with an offshore haul of $14.3M for a global cume of $61.46M.

NBC’s summer series Camp has turned on the sizzle with the romance between Robbie (Tim Pocock) and Sarah (Dena Kaplan), childhood sweethearts considering their future together beyond their carefree summer days. In a recent exclusive interview, star Tim Pocock shared what he loves about this fun series and playing the ultimate good-guy who may get his heart-broken.
So what drew you to Camp and the role of Robbie Matthews?
Tim: I got the script back in January and I was originally going to audition for the role of Cole. I liked the script, as it was really funny and well-written. But when I told my agents, “I really like this Robbie guy,” they were like, “Well, let’s just wait and see what age range they are going to be looking at.” Luckily enough, the stars aligned and I got the role.
What do you most admire about Robbie?...

Cinematographer Denson Baker Acs was born in New Zealand but spent his childhood in Perth, Western Australia. Even though he was a child, he has distinct memories of the time, the atmosphere and the look of the city and its surroundings. The surfing world hasn't seen much love since Kathryn Bigelow's "Point Break," with most pics since then merely excuses to get good-looking actors in swimsuits. There does seem to be one film on the horizon that aims to be different though, the surfing-based action-drama "Drift" starring Sam Worthington, Xavier Samuel and Myles Pollard. A handful of images from the film have arrived, and while there may not be much skin, there is a lot of Worthington hair.
Co-directed by Morgan O'Neill and Ben Nott, the story follows the Kelly brothers as they start a new life in a remote Australian coastal town where they come up against suspicious locals, killer waves and ruthless bikers as they struggle to kick-start a new business based on surfing, their greatest passion. Interestingly, Worthington takes the passenger seat, playing photographer/filmmaker Jb with Samuel and Pollard playing the leading pair, Jimmy and Andy Kelly.

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber touched down in Sydney yesterday with their sons Samuel and Sasha. She was decked out in a hat and sunglasses, ready to trade the wintery climate of NYC for the Australian Summer. Naomi and Liev haven't made the rounds this award season, though her J. Edgar did get some love at various shows. However, some were shocked when her leading man Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't named among the best actor contenders during yesterday's Oscar nominations. Naomi will enjoy a break before starting her next project, a controversial film with Robin Wright called The Grandmothers. View Slideshow ›...

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber were back at a Sydney park with their sons Sasha and Samuel this afternoon. Sasha snacked on an apple while Samuel hit the swing set, and later dad Liev beat the heat by taking his tee off in the sandbox. He also went shirtless after a surfing session during another outdoor adventure yesterday. The Schreiber-Watts have been enjoying the Australian Summer for the last few weeks, spending the holidays with Naomi's relatives. View Slideshow ›...

When Filmink last spoke to Camille Chen in December 2009, the West Australian director was just about to commence shooting her debut feature film, Little Sparrows (formerly titled Façade). Six months later, Chen's film has wrapped and was recently selected to screen at the Sydney Film Festival as part of the ‘Love Me' pathway with Festival Director Clare Stewart describing the film as "beautifully nuanced." Little Sparrows traces the emotional lives of three sisters whose mother Susan (Nicola Bartlett) is dying of breast cancer. A Christmas lunch in the middle of an Australian summer is the pivotal event around which the film's elliptical structure revolves, shifting between the interior journeys of the three daughters and Susan's own reconciliation with the life she has lived and her impending death.
