Got to say That was one heck of a show to be live on
Astorrefb221 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Folks i got to say the WWE finally gave us a show that was just wonderful. SInce Ecw One NIght Stand. SUmmerslam the Show was good Like the First match I say 30 Seconds Long Benoit wins the US Belt Finally someone good has it. And Even though it was 30 seconds it was still fun to watch because Benoit won. Next Edge and Hardy now with all the hype this match had it was a slight Disappointment how Edge won and so quickly . But the Spear through the ring ropes on to Hardy and straight to the floor was a keeper spot to say the least. Now the Match of the Night EDDIE VS> Rey Ladder. OOO MY lord this match was off the hook. And best the Feud should be over now as Rey won. Then a Match that was great because EUGENE got him Self BOOOED OUT OF THE Stadium. Angle vs. Eugene. I say it was a good match but the best part was the fact ANgle was loved in the DC and Eugene was Booed right out there. Orton vs. Taker NOw this proves one thing Taker is better with the quicker agile Atheletes more then the big slow guys. These two made each other look good on the match. Orton sadly won . but still have to say great generic match. Y2J and Cena's WWE title Match. I will say it finally Cena can perform a good match. If IF he has someone like Y2J or HBK or Angle with him. He needs someone really superior to his wrestling skill to work with to make it a good match. But this was a great wwe title match sadly Y2J lost.. Batista vs. JBL. To short But had a great powerbomb and I got some money from JBL. Last HBK vs. HOgan the Icon vs. Legend. Well No Bret hart thank god. But this match had all you needed. SHarpshooter Sweet Chin Music. Hulk up and Leg Drop and finally the Hand Shake. THis match was probably a great for Hogan as Hogan matches go.

So all in all this Show Live was GREAT

Good fast surprising PPV
Stampsfightclub13 December 2010
Orlando Jordan vs Chris Benoit (US title)

A remarkable opening and easily the quickest match you will ever see and it was actually rather funny to. 8/10

Matt Hardy vs Edge

The build up to this was very good with the real life occurrences between Lita and Edge and we see the animosity all the way through a, once more, very short encounter. Thankfully the cage match at Unforgiven was great for retribution 8/10

Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero

This ladder match for the custody of Eddie's "biological" son had some great swings and moves, particularly from the late Guerrero who always shone as a heel. Ending was obvious though 8/10

Eugene vs Kurt Angle

Seeing wrestlers like Eugene and Hornswoggle makes me despise the company today and this is why. Eugene uses no original move and thankfully Angle shows why he is the best wrestler, and performer, of all time. 6/10

Undertaker vs Randy Orton

Wrestlemania rematch was all guns blazing as Orton tried to scamper numerous times and the Undertaker is never, in his whole career, boring. The ending was quite shocking to 8/10

Batista vs JBL (No holds barred world title match)

Brutal fist fights and a powerbomb of a climax but this was surprisingly exceptionally short and rather forgettable. 5/10

John Cena vs Chris Jericho

This match has the most ridiculous outcome imaginable. Jericho, in arguably his most dominant performance in his career, is in cruise control and high flying entertaining action. Cena seriously hits about 3 big moves, this is all Y2J. Great atmosphere here as half the crowd chant "Let's go Cena" then the others chant "Let's go Jericho" 8/10

Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels

A reasonable climax. Given the build up and terms and everything involved it boiled down to some risky moments involving chairs, low blows etc. Hogan bleeds profusely pretty much all the way through. There was only ever going to be one ending. 7/10

A very good consistent PPV with many surprises, none bigger than the first match but certainly worth checking out.

Has it's moments

Warning: Spoilers
A good Summerslam event, as nothing was really wrong with it, but could of been a bit better with the matches, the duration of them & their pace.

FIRST MATCH- ORLANDO JORDAN {CHAMPION} VS. CHRIS BENOIT FOR THE WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP This has got to be the fastest title change in Summerslam & WWE history. Benoit makes Orlando tap out to the Sharpshooter in about 25 seconds to become the new United States Champion. 3/10

SECOND MATCH- EDGE W/ LITA VS. MATT HARDY This more of a brawl, not a wrestling match, but what a good brawl it was. Edge beats Matt Hardy bad until he bleeds, as the referee stops the match, which results Edge as the winner. 5/10

THIRD MATCH- REY MYSTERIO VS. EDDIE GUERRERO IN A LADDER MATCH FOR CUSTODY OF DOMINICK Pretty cool ladder match, although I really didn't see the ending, but from what I saw, it was an acceptable ladder match from these two great athletes, especially Mysterio, but never count Eddie Guerrero out. Eddie's wife distracts him, knocking him off the ladder, as Mysterio climbs up the ladder & retrieves custody papers to gain the right to keep his son Dominick. 5/10

FOURTH MATCH- KURT ANGLE VS. EUGENE W/ CHRISTY HEMME IN A NO TIME LIMIT CHALLENGE FOR KURT ANGLE'S GOLD MEDALS A pretty solid & one sided match, but it was alright. Angle always rules, but Eugene is just bad. Angle makes Eugene tap out to the ankle lock to get his gold medals back from Eugene. 5/10

FIFTH MATCH- RANDY ORTON VS. UNDERTAKER Very good match, pretty much the same like their Wrestlemania encounter, but it was great, both these two men have got great chemistry in the ring together. An unknown hooded figure interferes, giving Orton enough time to nail an RKO on Undertaker for the three count. After the match, it turns out the hooded figure is Cowboy Bob Orton, Randy Orton's dad. 5/10

SIXTH MATCH- JOHN CENA {CHAMPION} VS. CHRIS JERICHO FOR THE WWE CHAMPIONSHIP Another good match, as all the hype between these two men have not carried down this match. Jericho & Cena are really great athletes, & have got really good chemistry together. Cena nails the FU for the win & to retain his WWE Championship. 5/10

SEVENTH MATCH- BATISTA {CHAMPION} VS. JBL IN A NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Wasn't bad, but could of been given just a little bit of more time, pretty coll spots in this match. Batista nails a Powerbomb on JBL on the steel steps, for the cool victory & to retain his World Heavyweight Championship. 5/10

EIGHT MATCH- SHAWN MICHAELS VS. HULK HOGAN Finally, the match everyone has dreamed & waiting to watch for one last time has come here, & what a better place besides Wrestlemania than Summerslam. To say the truth, I was expecting a lot more from this match, but Hulk Hogan is getting pretty old, so you gotta give him a break. It was alright, as Hogan was busted open really badly in this match. But he was able to fight back, & nail a Big Boot followed by a Leg Drop for the win. After the match, both Michaels & Hogan shook hands in respect, as what a great way to end Summerslam. 4/10

As I said, this Summerslam has it's moments, especially the ending of the mainevent, as it was a great Summerslam which is no surprise as all Summerslams are exciting to watch. Good event, nothing really too bad, but the mainevent could of been a bit better, but overall, it was a great event.

Overall I'll give it 7/10 & a C+

The Legend defeats the Icon at SummerSlam
stitch_198120 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Icon vs Legend. Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan. One of the matches that I, along with so many other long time wrestling fans, thought we would never see. And considering it was a Hogan match, it didn't disappoint. Michaels proved tonight why he will go down as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all time as he carried Hulk Hogan to his best match in many, many years. Sure, then ending was rubbish (HKB should have kicked Hogan's dentures clean out his mouth) but the sheer history making feel about the contest made up for it.

The rest of the card was good as well. The ladder match between Mysterio and Guerrero was excellent. I hope this ends their feud now as it will have gone out on a high note. Jericho battling Cena for the WWE Championship was enjoyable also. Looks now that this will be Jericho's final WWE pay-per-view for a while so it was good he ended on a Championship match. Orton and The Undertaker had an good match but it couldn't hold a candle to their barn burner at WrestleMania 21. JBL and Batista also had a fairly good No Holds Barred match. This is another feud I hope ended at SummerSlam 2005. These two have zero chemistry together and it shows in the ring.

The only flaws where the United States Championship match which made Orlando Jordan out to be the useless jobber that we WWE fans feel he is anyway and why the hell did one of the hottest matches of the night get stopped in about five minutes. Very, very bad booking in my eyes. Matt Hardy and Edge should have been allowed to tear each other apart all over Washington.

SummerSlam has always been one of the hottest (no pun intended) events of the year and 2005 was no different. It was hyped as a mayor event and it felt like a major event. Just a pity WWE couldn't put on a show like this every month for it's fans.

Match made in heaven!!! Good show.

Warning: Spoilers
SummerSlam 2005 Thoughts

SummerSlam 2005 was the 18th annual SummerSlam event produced by the WWE. It took place on August 21, 2005 at the MCI Center in Washington DC with an attendence of 18,176. Quick fact, first PPV event to take place at this Stadium since Backlash 2000 as WCW mostly was the promotion to have major events at this arena due to deals. Little complicated fact but WWF/WCW had major competition with one another when it came to hosting locations. Anyway the main headline of this event was the dream matchup of HBK vs. Hulk Hogan. WWE build this as a once in a lifetime. We also had 2 major title matches from Raw and Smackdown as well as the classic Custody of Dominick storyline between Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero. This would also be the last Major PPV Appearance of Eddie Guerrero.

The Good - I thought the 3 most important matches didn't disappoint. All could have been better but they still were good. Although it was predictable of Jericho losing to Cena due to at the time of the contract, the match was fun and the crowd was hot. Batista vs. JBL was actually good for a brawl. The two are not the best in-ring works in history but they kept the crowd into it. Match for a brawl lacked weapons. I would say in the mid card, Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero was the best match of the night but some botches stopped it from being an instant classic. Hogan vs. HBK was better than expected depite the overselling of HBK due to controversial decision of choice of winner.

The Meh - Randy Orton vs. Undertaker was somewhat decent but it's early slow pacing and ending to continue the story was a blow. I mentioned earlier of Rey and Eddie having numerous botching. Rey hadn't been in many ladder matches in his career so Eddie obviously had to carry on. Some odd timing issues also happened that made everyone confused.

The Bad - Edge vs. Matt Hardy didn't go well as the story build. I always hate to rewatch this as Edge being one of my favorites of all time really did get heat from fans out of Kayfabe for being the one to be pushed as the winner of this feud despite what happened with him, Matt Hardy, and Lita. The match ending in a no contest was stupid. Kurt Angle didn't deserve to be in a match with Eugene. He was clearly being wasted right here.

Overall - A pretty good show. It delivered the theme of the show well of SummerSlam being the hottest and big event of the summer. Not one of the best PPVs of all time but very enjoyable.

Score - 7 out of 10: Good

0 = Terrible : 1 = Bad/Lackluster : 2 = Decent : 3 = Good : 4 = Awesome : 5 = One of the Best of all Time :

1. Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan: WWE United States Championship - Not Worth It

2. Edge vs. Matt Hardy - 0/5

3. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio: Custody of Dominick (Ladder Match) - 4/5

4. Kurt Angle vs. Eugene: Olympic Gold Medal - 1.5/5

5. Randy Orton vs. Undertaker - 2.5/5

6. Chris Jericho vs. John Cena: WWE Championship - 3.5/5

7. Batista vs. JBL: World Heavyweight Championship (No Holds Barred) - 3/5

8. Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan - 3.5/5

Best Match - Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio

Worst Match - Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit. I normally don't count these as an actual match but whatever.

Most Memorable Moment - Honestly HBK's oversells. I mean I think of that every time I hear this PPV

Top 5 Performers

1. Eddie Guerrero - Great Heel and carried the match

2. Rey Mysterio - Good Performance

3. John Cena - Good Performance

4. Chris Jericho - Good Performance. Also leaving soon and did a good farewell run.

5. Hulk Hogan - Still had the charisma.

Average !!

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS

Just another average pay per view. when the wold champs are not in the main event you know that the things go wrong.

next up the recap of the matches:

Chris Benoit vs Orlando Jordan(c) -US Title match Benoit wins in 30 seconds with the Crippler Cross Face, yep the second WWE most important ppv have a 30 seconds squash match, anyway a Huge pop for Benoit rating 2/5, crowd reaction:5/5

Edge vs Matt Hardy -Single Match Disappointing match. This match had a lot of expectation due the return of Matt Hardy, the match begun and they just throw punchs and later edge wins via TKO. I Felt very disappointed rating 1/5

Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Misterio -Ladder Match Very good match, finally a very good match. This is undoubtedly the match of the night but the storyline is so pathetic and the ending is so bad. Rey wins with the help of Eddie's wife. rating 4.5/5

Kurt Angle vs Eugene -Single Match Wow two squash in one night, Angle wins with the Angle Lock and a very impressive pop for Angle rating 2/5, crowd reaction 5/5.

Randy Orton vs Undertaker -Single Match Another good match between Orton and Mr.Callaway ,Orton wins with a RKO after some distraction. After the match, the guy who distracted Taker revealed himself as Bob Orton Jr. Does anyone Care???? rating 3.5/5

John Cena(c) vs Chris Jericho -wwe Championship Like every Cena's match the opponent take the offensive side the 80% of the time and Cena wins with the FU, anyway the crowd was very involved in the match rating 3.5/5

JBL vs Batista(c) -WHC Championship Another very short match, like the Edge-Matt Match they brawl the 100% of the time, but the ending is impressive ,Batista Connects the mighty Batista Bomb and connects another one in the ring steps, sweet!! 3.5/5

Hogan vs HBK -Single match Unsurprisely HBK carries the 90% of the match in the end HBK connects the Diving Elbow and the sweet Chin Music and go for the pin butt he Hulkster kicks out and begin to hulk up and like always he is unbeatable and wins with the "devastating" leg drop, after the match another huge pop rating 4/5 crowd reaction 6/5

summerslam 2005

Warning: Spoilers
first off let me say that this was a fantastic pay per view.

1st match- Beniot vs Orlando Jordan- U.S championship this was a great 30 second match. Orlando got 1 slap on Beniot before Beniot did 2 suplexes, then locking on the crippler. Must've been a summerslam record for fastest time. 7/10

2nd match- Edge vs Matt Hardy this was a solid match with a terrible ending. These guys weren't even wrestling they were just throwing punches all match. Match ended when Matt Hardy was bleeding continuously and the ref thought he could not continue anymore so Edge was declared the winner.Fans were disappointed. 7.5/10

3rd matcher- Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero What a match, these guys put every fan out of there seats. plenty of high risks moves. Lots of Holy S*** chants going. Match end when Eddie is about to climb the ladder and win when his wife comes and pushes ladder over allowing Rey to climb and win the match. 8.5/10

4th match- Kurt Angle vs Eugene Fans were behind Angle all the way on this match. Angle mostly dominated this match with Eugene doing like 3 moves on angle. match ends when angle makes Eugene tap out to the ankle lock. short match but pretty good. 7/10

5th match- Randy Orton vs Undertaker Some parts got a little boring, but it then picked up the pace. match ends when a guy from fans comes in the ring, distracts undertaker, undertaker throws him out but that allows randy Orton to hit the RKO for the 1-2-3. after the match it turns out the fan was Randy's dad Bob Orton. 7/10

6th match-John Cena vs Chris Jericho what was funny is this match was that half the fans were chanting lets go Jericho while the other fans were chanting lets go cena. i was surprised to see Jericho got some pops. overall a good match. match ends when Cena pulls a F-U out of nowhere. 8/10

7th match- JBL vs Batista Coming into this match i had no expectations. Jbl is the worst wrestler that WWE ever made champion. I was quite surprised tho at this match. much better then i thought it would be. match ends when Batista did a Batista bomb once but the fans chanted one more so Batista did a Batista bomb a second time on the steel steps. 8.3/10

8th match- Hulk Hogan vs HBK Shawn Micheals This was the most anticipated match of the night. Hogan came out to a huge ovation. this was a great match but some parts the fans were dead but became back alive again. Fans were chanting you screwed Bret and we want Bret. Micheals hit the sharpshooter but hogan got the ropes, then Michaels hit hogan with a chair, then a flying elbow. that set him up for the sweet chin music. Micheals nailed it right in hogans face. Michaels pins 1-2 NOO hogan kicks out and hulks up. hogan blocks Michaels punches lands 3 of his own and then the big boot and then he hits the leg drop for the 1-2-3. hogan WINS!. after the match Michaels comes back into the ring and shakes hogan's hand saying that he needed to know if he can do it. hogan then poses for the fans and celebrates his win. 9/10

Overall Summerslam 2005 was a great pay per view. worth purchasing.

One of WWE's most entertaining PPVs of the year.
jcruickshank-230 December 2005
Warning: Spoilers
WWE SummerSlam had a very interesting match card that it definitely lived up to with it's best matches being the No Holds Barred match between JBL and Batista, the main event of Hogan vs Shawn Michaels and of course the fantastic ladder match between Rey Mysterio and the late but great Eddie Guerrero. This event without a doubt beat last year's event and set a new standard for SummerSlam events.

History was made in the very first match as Chris Benoit beat Orlando Jordan in a mere 28 seconds! Which made it the quickest match in the history of the U.S title and also a new champion was born! Unfortunately I don't think the two competitors had caught all of the fans attention by the end of the match but you could catch most of the match in the replay anyway. 5/10 Matt Hardy vs Edge didn't quite live up to its expectations as it was cut short but an excellent high risk move was performed in which Hardy was standing on the ring outside the ropes and Edge speared him out the ring and onto the arena floor. This is what WWE is here for, to entertain us by putting their bodies on the line. Edge won by TKO and we saw quite a bloody mess on Matt Hardy's face. 7/10 But the match that stole the show was the ladder match between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio for the custody of Dominick. This match is my favourite ladder match of all time and both competitors put their body on the line with great sacrifice. This shows both competitor's passion to entertain the crowd and will go down as a legendary match in the history of both these men's careers. It was also one of Guerrero's last matches before his sudden death last November. My favourite move was when Rey threw Eddie onto a supporting ladder which Rey used to climb up and both ladders fell down. One of the main reasons I liked that move was because it seemed to of gone wrong. I also loved it when Rey was hanging on to the briefcase in the air and Eddie powerbombed him from there. Rey practically fell 15 feet to the mat. The crowd were loving every minute of it and hooked on every movement. Dominick was in the crowd and the camera showed his face throughout the match. Dominick is a good actor in my opinion and better then most child actors. Eddie I think was always good at playing the bad guy. Rey Mysterio eventually won this titanic battle and even the wrestler's real wifes got involved in the act. I give this great bout 10/10.

Kurt Angle beat Eugene to win back his Olympic gold medals in a bout which I think was of only RAW and SmackDown! standards. But was far from bad. 5/10 Randy Orton beat the Undertaker in an enjoyable match, but not as good as their match at WrestleMania 21. When Cowboy Bob Orton jumped into the ring dressed as some crazy person, I thought that for once something like that might be legitimate as the commentators soon forgot about the matter straight away. You can expect acts like that in WWE but you never know when they are going to happen. 7/10 John Cena defeated Chris Jericho to retain his WWE title in a match that hooked the fans and at one point got them really cheering as loud as they could for Cena when he was in danger of tapping out. I could see the point that WWE was making here as the fans support gave Cena strength to put Jericho in the FU. I don't think anyone was expecting Jericho to be fired the next night but sometimes WWE is predictable and sometimes they've got some new ideas coming out of their sleeves. 6/10 The next good bout was Batista vs Bradshaw for the World Hevyweight title in a match that could of lasted longer but was nevertheless entertaining enough. Not often do we get the barricade separating the fans from the wrestlers knocked down. The Batista bomb to JBL onto the steel ring steps was something we saw a couple of months earlier at Vengeance in which Batista did the same to Triple H. But it was a pleasant reminder. Batista won to retain his title in a match I'd give an 8/10.

Then came the main event that was better then most matches but not as good as the ladder match and that was Hulk Hogan vs Shawn Michaels. This match saw some good action and HBK being thrown ring. But there was nothing special or anything new seen in this match. Although we did see Hulk Hogan's face in such a state that one would think that his face had been torn apart. Hogan eventually came out on top. 8/10 In all I think that this SummerSlam set a good standard for the next SummerSlams to come. 9/10

Summerslam 2005. (try not to spoil to much)
amw_bgwelectric25 March 2007
I really liked this PPV.

Beniot vs Orlando Jordan- U.S championship No one liked the match because it was only 45 seconds. Get the hell over. Its being realistic. Its just silly and fake if every match is made out nicely. Just the right time. Your a idiot if you have a problem with this match. That shows that any thing can happen, Just like in real life. Isted of bitching about how short it was, Just larf and say 'wow he kicked his ass so fast' 5/10

Edge vs Matt Hardy I LOVED this match, It showed how to men just HATED EACH OTHER. They didn't do in fancy wrestling, As soon as the match started they just started punching each other. I thought it was really cool. I watched in horror as they continued punching and punching. Soon one of them was just on the mat. The other just keeped kicking him in the head. It was a raw brutal fist fight. Nothing more, nothing less. At the end one wrestling was on his knees covered in blood. The other continued to larf and kick his bloody head. It was awesome. Most underrated match ever. Short but brutal. 10/10

Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero Another example why WWE story lines are silly. But i got over that. The fight was over who was going to be a father of eddies child or something. It was a really good match with a lot of cool stunts from the ladder. There were points when i thought it was going to end, but the match went on. I was thinking GO REY GO REY GO REY!!. It was really close and a good ending. GREAT MATCH. 8/10

Kurt Angle vs Eugene I love Kurt Angle. And i love seeing his great ring work. Eugenes gimmick is kind of silly. Hes a mildly retarded wrestler.. And there only so much you can do with him. But the match was kind of funny. 7/10 :D (lol what kinda of ass hole wrestler like Kurt angle would sit there beating up a metaly challenged person) :P

Randy Orton vs Undertaker A pretty entertaining match between dead man and Orton. It was injoyeble.7/10

John Cena vs Chris Jericho It was a good match. But... I don't no. I don't care for these wrestler to much. I don't hate them. Im just not there NO1 fan. But it was a good match. Very long, Close, Entertaining. Prehapes i didn't think it was the great because it was the 2nd long single match in a row? 7/10

JBL vs Batista It was a nice match to watch. Short, But good, Batista went hard out. Throw him into the crowd. Etc 7/10

Hulk Hogan vs HBK I really wanted to know who was going to win. My bet was that hogan was going to win. I loved the backstage promo. When HBK is acting like hogan. Making fun of him 10/10. The match it self was good. Though the end was stupid. The fans went nuts and thats what made the match great. I have mixed feeling about the winner. Im not sure what to think.

Overall. Would i bye this PPV? Yea.. i would. It was a good PPV.

Wasn't worth my 35 bucks
terrell_lucas200523 August 2005
Summerslam 2005 is a pretty big example of how wrestling has gone down over the years, watching that ppv was like watching Raw or Smackdown, only having to pay to watch it, Orton vs Taker and Cena vs Jericho were the only two matches I enjoyed, I expected a lot more action out of the Guerrero and Mysterio ladder match, Most of the event was a big disappointment, I nearly fell asleep in the Hogan and HBK match, being a fan of wrestling since i had baby teeth is a pain for me to see such an event, this suppose to be the second biggest wwe ppv event of the year, I suggest you keep your 35 bucks in your pocket for this one, it really isn't worth it

The main event isn't worth it, the rest of the show is.

Warning: Spoilers
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels - The start of this match was fun, as hard as it is to believe HBK being in control made this hard to watch.

WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Chris Jericho - The crowd being split is what made this match enjoyable.

World Championship: Batista vs. JBL - This being kept short and the No Holds Barred rules helped this match a lot.

Matt Hardy vs. Edge - Way too short for Hardys return but the ending was unpredictable.

Randy Orton vs. Undertaker - On par with their Wrestlemania match

Eugene vs. Kurt Angle - Angle being so intense really added to this match. I loved his celebration at the end.

Ladder Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio U.S. Championship:

Orlando Jordan vs Chris Beniot - This was really really short but after their Great American Bash match you can see why.

Fantastic show overall.

Warning: Spoilers
Good grief! McMahon has done it again! This PPV is in the excellence package along with earlier PPV's like One Night Stand, Judgment Day and Vengeance. This event drew 570,000 buys! In my opinion it had the Summerslam feel to it.

Results from the show:

  • Rey Mysterio defeated Eddie Guerrero in a cracker ladder match. However this storyline has ran its course and it should end right now!

  • Chris Benoit beat Orlando Jordan in 25 seconds to win the US title.

  • Edge beat Matt Hardy in a wild short match which featured Hardy splitting his head open.

  • Batista defeated John 'Bradshaw' Layfield in a good match. Way better than their sh*te match at Great American Bash. JBL really suffers here as Batty powerbombs him through the steps!

  • Kurt Angle defeated Eugene. Hey, did anyone else think that Eugene would win?!

  • John Cena beat Chris Jericho to retain the Heavyweight Championship in a very good match! Yes, Cena was in a good match!

  • Randy Orton pinned The Undertaker with help from his ole fella 'Cowboy' Bob Orton.

  • Hulk Hogan pinned Shawn Michaels. OK, this wasn't going to be a Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle technical masterpiece, but fans were eager to see this match happen because it hadn't been done before.

The only disappointments were Shelton Benjamin or Christian were not used on the card, but those details aside, a solid effort! Overall Grade - A
