A cute, funny and emotive series from Spain
tikin22 June 2009
Warning: Spoilers
TVE produced this excellent show in 2005; unfortunately, the Spanish channel kept it on the limbo for one year and just issued one season with 13 episodes.

The plot is completely realistic, with very fun and emotive situations, so for the spectator is easy identified with the troubles of these women. You will find a widow mother with two daughters, the adorable granny with a funny behavior, and other kind of characters that will make you pass a really great moment.

The actors are completely credible, and the music is correct; It's rare to find this kind of histories on TV in these days, so i recommend this TV show.

Simply only unique

Mujeres is the best Series that one has written and vehicle since I have memory(report). It is taken care to the maximum. From the scripts, the lighting, the sets and certainly his(her, your) artistic index. The actresses and the actors are impeccable, creating prominent figures who from the first moment get into your house, catch you and hook you with his(her, your) histories. Felix Sabroso y Dunia Ayaso, his(her, your) directors, have could form with a lot of professionalism and creativity a women's world to which to wish house on Monday. The casting is more than succeeded. It is the best. Unknown actors in the main that have could portray the hardness of the neighborhood and the vicissitudes of a house it(he,she) fills with dislikes, dreams, fight and big breakfasts... Already it was time to enjoy one series of quality. Simply only(unique)

If there's nothing else to go on..........

Here in Spain, after the main night-time news bulletin on the first State Channel, I generally switch over to the Second State Channel, called "La Dos". This is because if there is anything worth seeing above the mediocrity of all the other channels being fed by optic-fibre into my little kingdom called "home", or by any other means, including TDT, I may, with luck find it here on "La Dos".

There are programmes like "Enfoque", "En Portada", "Off Cinema" and other programmes worth watching on this second channel.

Hower, I do not include "Mujeres". It has about the same intellectual level as "Ana y Los Siete", and so should therefore be on the first channel - or not on any channel at all, preferably.

The "show" is pathetic at best, and tries to put women back into being the beautiful little piece at home and with the intelligence of a porcelain doll, or worse. The interpretations are as false as a €33 bank-note and are not at all indicative of any woman of today - however great-grandma they might be.

But it sells publicity spots, such is the prostitution of any TV-station anywhere in the world. The worst countries are the USA, Indonesia and Spain, in that order.

Unless you love superficial trivialities with no raison d'être except existing in itself alone and for no other purpose and you do not know how to read an interesting book, do not bother with this silly fandangle, but either change to another channel, or better still, switch the idiot-box OFF.
