Zombeak: All peck and no bite
Platypuschow1 July 2017
Let me be clear, though advertised as horror this is certainly not and resembles a campy comedy more than anything.

Incompetent satanists summon the dark lord but when the redneck locals intervene his spirit accidentally goes into a chicken.

And like that we have satanists vs rednecks vs a soul sucking blood thirsty chicken.

There are a couple of laughs to be had and considering the budget it doesn't look entirely terrible but the sheer volume of cringe inducing moments and a terrible finale make this a less than easy to watch effort.

If I could leave it a rating of zero I would. The acting is painful to sit through, the special effects are far from special. It feels like you're watching a school project filmed by 12 year olds who have an idea for a scary film.

The most terrifying thing was the quality of this film. I guess it deserves its place in horror as that is exactly what this film is - absolutely horrific.

Just don't put yourself through it, there's no point.

A feisty waitress called Melissa (played by a Melissa K Gilbert in fact, a nice looking woman who sadly keeps her clothes on) gets kidnapped by a motley crew of four Satanists who plan to sacrifice her and bring forth The Anti-Christ, or some nonsense like that. Her redneck boyfriend, her manager and a very dubious cop come to her rescue, quite easily overpowering the lame Satanists but a sacrificed zombie chicken (yes, I typed that correctly) inflicts bloody mayhem on all of them. I have seen many crazy story lines but fair play they don't much crazier than this! Shot on video on what was obviously a low budget the bad acting and equally bad script should come as no surprise. There is plenty of gore though the effects are very cheap looking, especially the horrible CGI blood spurts. The running time is padded out by inserting out takes in the closing credits, I only laughed at one of them. This is a very crazy occult horror that has to be seen to be believed though that is most definitely NOT a recommendation! The cop says "Evil tastes like chicken", well this movie smells like turd!

Absolute genius!!!

Warning: Spoilers
A film about a satanic ritual gone wrong forcing the soul of Lucifer into a chicken. You can image how good it sounded when they pitched this idea. Well it is every bit as good as you are imagining. Trying to create fear from a badly made puppet of the least threatening bird imaginable may sound like a terrible idea! And it is. But there lies the charm and pure awesomeness that is zombeak. A script full of brilliant one liners (did someone call for an exorcist?), hilarious acting, beyond laughable effects and a half human half chicken baby! How can that not be cinematic gold of a shawshank redemption standard. I cant recommend this film enough! You need to see this! If only to hear the most fear inducing sound of movie history. An echoing squawk from a demonic chicken. Wow! Just Wow!
