Watched Grim in a dark theater on Hollywood Blvd. Appropriate, yes, for this clever little film that uses the Death mythos to great effect. Snappy and crisp, it would be better served to be expanded to a feature. I hear it has been quite the festival winner, which is where I caught it. It also played at a festival my work was in. It seems JP Nickel has had quite a few festival entries that have gotten acclaim. I believe this is his best work. The acting is an improvement from Why We Had To Kill Bitch. I do feel that it is a satisfactory little snapshot of the concept but there could be more levels explored. Does anyone agree on this with me? Inquiring minds want to know. Looking forward to the replies...
