Mediocre effort at best

Warning: Spoilers
I had the misfortune of seeing this movie. It's not worth giving out spoilers. The director was obviously trying, but he failed. The story was not the least bit original. Even with a talent like Eva Longoria. He fails to impress. If this is the next "big director," Hollywood is in trouble. It stands as another marred effort by a "filmmaker" picking up an affordable DV camera and making a "movie" without even knowing the slightest about how to make a movie. I hope they never make this into a feature. If they do, hire a new writer. Get a new Director. As a matter of fact throw out the whole thing and start from scratch. I would only recommend it if you wanted to waste 17mins of your precious life.

I REALLY liked this film!

I was really surprised by how much I liked this film. It had a really good story and the writing was very real. I don't see a lot of these smaller films but a friend recommended it to me and he said it was cool. He also said Eva Longoria was in it and I really like her in desperate housewives. All the actors did an excellent job. Does anyone know if they are going to make this into a feature film? I think it would be cool if they made it longer because their are some really funny scenes between some of the male characters in the office that I loved and the action was really intense. I don't know what else to say cause I don't want to ruin it for anyone. You guys should definitely check it out.

Wall Street meets The Game

Like a heavyweight champion, writer/director Umberto Gonzalez delivers a knockout hit. On a small budget and shot on mini-DV, Umberto Gonzalez is the next young director to keep an eye on.

The star Alain Mora is a talent worth remembering. His colleague Ryan Surratt is charming and likable. And Eva Longoria? Well, our language is infinite and no words could describe her eternal class, professionalism, warmth and beauty. She deserves a major thank you for being a part of this production! Alan Samuels, the sound mixer, is superb. It was a privilege to have "Big Al" be on the set and share his wisdom and experiences going back to Doug Liman and Swingers. Cinematographer Edwin Figueroa moves the camera around elegantly and maximized the production's limited resources. Editor Carlos Berrios makes it all come together so beautifully and it'd be remiss not to acknowledge his contribution.

Umberto Gonzalez is set to make his directorial debut in 2006. I can't wait to see this big guy shine and breakthrough on the big screen next year.

Totally Kickass Short Film. It's like Boiler Room but with Comedy
pcredeemer13 September 2005
I saw this movie about a month ago and was totally blown away. Working in the biz I get short films from people all the time, but rarely have I seen something that has has much balls and good acting as Hustler's Instinct. Plus, of course, its got Eva Longoria, which makes it even better. The flow of the film is great, there are no boring parts and the action picks up quick. The lead actor (Alain Mora)and his business partner (Ryan Surratt) have the best scene spoutin' funny lines and arguing about (Eva Longoria's) character Vanessa Santos. I was bustin' up watching it! I don't know why talented people like this aren't working more. I'm gonna be on the lookout for all of them!

A daily hustler gets taken into the hustle of his life.

I was hesitant at first to watch this film because it was an independent film and I am not a movie buff. I thought movies were supposed to be about special effects and million dollar actors. This movie has neither of these aspects but I was not disappointed. The framework and story line were setup perfectly. Paying attention to detail is crucial since this is a short film. I'd recommend watching it about 5-6 times to fully grasp the depth of this film. The director does a good job of negotiating angles and zoom. I would like to see more of this film or maybe even this story line turned into a series. I would definitely watch it. Awesomely convincing characters and Eva Longoria's acting is flawless <3 What are you waiting for? Watch this film!

a director to look out for!

Warning: Spoilers
An intense, entertaining, and original short. Eva Longaria as usual is damn hot....if messed up, as the wife. I love that the hustler gets hustled by his own wife! I think only someone as hot as Eva can get away with what she did and still keep her husband though! I can't imagine what he did to deserve that surprise... did not expect the ending at all. Surprising, funny, and messed up! The writing is smart, the cast is very likable, and the short is overall quite entertaining.

This director shows lots of potential. Curious to see what he'll come out with next. I also heard about Get Tido..can't wait to catch it in the festivals!
