More to my taste than a Chris Nolan blockbuster, and almost as needlessly complicated, "Synchronicity" is the first fetish video I've watched in my current immersion campaign of the neglected genre to have a solid, interesting pace. Perhaps there's life in these "damsel in distress" features after all.
The problem with fetish porn in general is its static nature. Aficionados apparently just like to sit there and gaze, sort of the perfect audience for Warhol's earliest film experiments like "Empire" and "Sleep". But director Jon Woods actually peps things up for a change, with a lengthy and varied cast list of beauties, mainly short little scenes, and a simple-minded but effective time-travel theme.
There are many different couples involved, with a woman overpowering another and then hog-tying her to a fare-thee-well. In addition there are several meticulous self- bondage episodes in which Woods shows us in detail how the model ties herself up, gag and all, even fastening locks or handcuffs until unable to escape, an interesting reverse-Houdini exercise that a viewing novice like me found worthwhile.
Nominal storyline has a couple of renegades from the future traveling back to roughly our time (video was shot in 2001) and potentially wreaking havoc by making changes which will affect the past (and future, depending on one's vantage point). Our intrepid busty blonde heroine is assigned to thwart their nefarious efforts.
Even without this sci-fi template, the actual bondage scenes play well with lots of struggling, especially by those auto-bondagettes who insist on doing it themselves. This is far removed from hard-core pornography, with the big thrills coming when a girl in her writhing becomes topless, as the entire cast has big and beautiful breasts.
Josie Perez was my favorite in the tits department, but there are over a dozen beauties to ogle at in different shapes and sizes. Most famous are future auteur Julie Simone as well as Ryan Conner who is more familiar from hundred of XXX gonzo assignments.
