**Vincent* is an engaging, smart, and overall great show- it's really well-paced, well-acted, well-written. Ray Winston is great in the main role and the supporting characters are interesting and well-developed. Their relationships are also nuanced and rich except that the hints of romance now and then are not quite convincing. Each episode takes up a unique situation with occasional twists. It truly is Brit crime tv at its best. I wish someone would revive the show with the same high quality writing and the same team- it will probably have to be a different cast though- 8 episodes is not nearly enough.
My wife and I made it through all 8 episodes. We were disappointed because its rating suggested a pretty good series. The plots were mostly implausible and, in some cases, ridiculous. The idea that Vincent was a lady's man and could appeal to much younger and more attractive women just didn't work. In many episodes the PI team dealt with violent, unscrupulous criminals, but the team kept going with no police involvement. Also, it wasn't clear where the money to fund 5 people full-time was coming from. The series deserves a much lower rating. Don't waste your time on it.
Vincent is a typical ray Winston TV show and as always ray makes a fantastic role and makes the whole show.Vincent also does have a great supporting cast, all 8 Vincents have been brilliant witty and TV gold.Vincent is also ray's best role since the part he took in scum, ray is a fantastic British actor who is just made for this role of Vincent simply because he is a great witty actor who makes his role witty in almost every episode of Vincent and is very much worthy of his award
Vincent is well worth its award, Vincent is just TV gold and British tele at its very best
one of the best crime shows for years

At last... At last... Vincent is a breath of fresh air to British television. Ray Winston is truly a great actor and portrays the role of Vincent to the best of his ability. The supporting cast help steal the show and make each episode is as gripping as the last. I am glad to see it back on TV with the 2nd series up and running, cannot wait to see the next episode and also buy the box-set in a few months. I hope that Ray has gotten a wider fan-base since lately starting to make it overseas as he is an amazing actor and should be given a lot more credit for his work not only in Great Britain but around the world also.
If you haven't seen Vincent yet... get off your backside and do so.

This series really asks a lot of viewers. Most detective series border unbelievable but this one goes into the realm of completely implausible. The lead is a fat guy who is able to perform amazing physical tasks beating up bad guys etc. The plots are ridiculous and the narrative is done in a way where success is always guaranteed even if the way to solve the crimes are completely illogical. Events happen solely to ensure that the cases are all solved. No wonder it only lasted for two seasons. It could not have garnered good support or become a smash hit with viewers. The slot for this type of genre is crowded, this series was just not that good to survive in it!
