A Great Outer Space Adventure!

I have seen all the "Magic School Bus" cartoons and must say that this DVD is far more engaging and entertaining than that series. The songs are superb with clever lyrics that leave you with a quick mental reference for all your essential planet factoids. Jake blasts off in his toy rocket on a learning adventure with terrific comedic dialogue that keeps my three kids thoroughly entertained over and over again. I like all the live action special effects. The planets with faces is a great way for kids to get involved with otherwise inanimate spheres. Very strongly recommended for children between the ages of 3 and 7. I hope like "Magic School Bus" that this "Field Trip" series continues.

Fun and Educational!

This movie not only teaches kids about the planets, but also has Disney caliber music. The lyrics are terrific and really stick in your head. I find myself singing them at work! My five year old watches this every day and knows his planets cold. He still laughs at the delightful dialogue and wonderful story. Amazing!

I must confess that I learned a few things from watching this DVD and will always remember my planets now. The best thing about this DVD is you don't realize that you are learning, since everything is presented in such an entertaining way.

It appears that this is the first in a series of adventures. My son and I look forward to the next one.

Yes! I Now Know the Planets

This story about a young boy who journeys in his toy rocket to the far reaches of our galaxy is really, as the title indicates, "fantastic." My daughter, age 7, absolutely positively LOVES this film. She has learned all the words to all the songs. The songs are catchy and inventive. Because information has been set to music, it is easy to recall for my daughter, and me for that matter. There's a song about Earth, Mercury and Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn (very funny), and Uranus with Neptune and, yes, the discredited Pluto, who my daughter just loves. Since this film appears to have been made before Pluto's controversial change in status, you may want to mention that to your little viewer at home. Strongly Recommended.
