William Lustig pulled Gregory Pakis aside at the 2004 Melbourne Underground Film Festival where Lustig was president of the jury and complimented Pakis on his film saying that it reminded him of the early Martin Scorsese's film Who's That Knocking at My Door (1967). Lustig gave it Best Film, however, it did end up missing out by only one vote.
