End of an Era. A moment frozen in time.
blanbrn29 May 2007
Once again we would get a repeat and again same result a Cowboys victory. Super Bowl XXVIII featured a Cowboys team that was cocky, and walked the walk and talked the talk as coach Jimmy Johnson put it. The Buffalo Bills now 4 time AFC champs were desperate for a Super Bowl win, hey how many chances will one team get! And indeed the Bills would start the game off hot, with Jim Kelly throwing the ball well and on target. In fact the underdog Bills lead 13-6 at the half, the Boys simply didn't have their heads in the game. Well that's why they play 4 quarters of football as expected the Cowboys ruled, as Buffalo would shoot their own foots as Thurman Thomas would make costly turnovers. And Dallas had a hero of their own that would be Superman Emmitt Smith who was game MVP with his spectacular runs. Final was Dallas 30-13 and back to back champs. Boy in the coming months change would follow in big D as the ego of owner Jerry Jones finally came to light when he butted heads with Jimmy Johnson, a disagreement caused an agreement that Johnson would no longer be the Cowboys head coach to me an end of an era in Dallas. In my opinion if Jones had kept Johnson on Dallas would have went on to an unlimited run of Super Bowl titles, I felt he was that good of a coach to bad that Jerry had so much ego and cockiness. As the NFL films highlights says at the end when they hold the Super Bowl trophy it would be a moment frozen in time.
