The best short by Igor Kovalyov Warning: Spoilers
Another mature short produced by Klasky-Csupo (Better known for their Nicktoons such as "Rugrats", "Aaahh!!! Real Monsters", "The Wild Thornberrys" and "As Told by Ginger") written and directed by the Ukrainian animator Igor Kovalyov (Who incidentally also directed the first Rugrats movie)

In sharp contrast with his other shorts (Such as Hen, His wife) the story here is a bit more down to earth, albeit told in a somewhat surreal manner, almost with no dialogue and a more somber tone, lacking his usual humor elements, also with far more morally ambiguous characters. Not even the child protagonist isn't entirely innocent.

An atmosphere of melancholy permeates it from beginning to end, contrasting the aesthetic of the character designs. Now, while I know some people tend to dismiss the art-style from the shows made by Klasky-Csupo shows as something "ugly", I sincerely think the art style used here looks pretty great, portraying reality in rather stylish manner that could possibly be done through animation.

Definately my favorite animation from Kovalyov.
