Excellent show. Very informative.
Ray Mears is doing very nice job here. His shows are very informative and helpful. And you can actually use his tips and tricks in your backyard. I've learned a lot from him. I never had succeeded in lighting fire with sticks before but after watching his episode of canoe journey, i was able to not only lighting fire on the ground, but as he said also succeeded in lighting the fire within. And Ray also has a vast knowledge of plants and berries and fungi as well. And we should not compare his works with other shows like Man vs wild which is totally a different show. Ray mostly tell us about how to live of the lands. It's quite astonishing that how much you can do with little knowledge of bush-craft and little bit of improvisation.

Warning: Spoilers
Well I have watched this series on discovery and may I say I was pleasantly surprised, Ray Mears really has some useful tricks to learn us, and I personally tried some of them. For me Ray Mears has been a Wednesday treat, though the thing that I would want to point out is that there are a lot of re-runs, not that many episodes which can be very annoying from time to time. But hopefully they will start to air some new episodes, maybe in Africa or new Zeeland, or maybe some deserted island in the middle of nowhere he he. To conclude what I think of this series I must say its one of the best series I have seen. But not that many episodes which tend to irritate you.
