In its first episode (issued September 3, 2001), the Sea Daughter, registered 20.2% rating and 57.3% share, with the highest result ever in a debut of a Portuguese soap opera.
The novel had a final average considered very good and as the second best ever, with 16.8% average audience and 48% share.
