Imaginatively weird and stylish – well worth three minutes of your time
bob the moo20 November 2005
When a dancing bear is gunned down by a man and a bear in an attack helicopter, the dead bear's boyfriend swears revenge. Removing the man's brain is the first step as it produces such feelings of guilt that it drives the man to madness. Meanwhile the rest of the dancing bears prepare for their final act. With such a plot it won't be a massive surprise to learn that this weirdly stylish animation comes from the highly enjoyable MESH programme from Blackwatch Productions and talented producer Nicola Black.

The story is a simple (?) revenge film that makes very little sense but this doesn't seem to act as a barrier to the film being enjoyable because it is so creative and weird that it is consistently engaging. The only downside of the film is that the end is not as strong as I would have liked, although it is quite nice in the way it is closed in. The animation is impressive and suits the imagination of the story – with a really cool revenge theme to it that makes for a strange mix with dancing bears and cruelty to animals.

Overall yet another a great animation from Blackwatch that is well worth checking out. It is imaginative, creative, cool and enjoyable – more than enough to make it a well spent three minutes.
