- TriviaThe RAH-66 Comanche helicopter (which the player flies) never entered service as the project was cancelled in 2004 while still in testing stages. Only 2 prototypes were ever built, the first of which began assembly in November 1993, several months after the game was first released in July.

Jungle Warfare
This is the second in the strike series and it's my favorite in the series along with it being one of my favorite video games in general.
There's not a whole lot I can really say, plotline is solid just like with the first game really like that they put an amount of depth into it which I feel gives the game weight as it really makes you feel as though what's happening in the game is important and what your doing does matter. Plotline is simple as an evil terrorist force has invaded and terrorized the US and it's up to you to defend the States down to infiltrate their many based toward the area where the scum has their homebase which is the Jungle.
It's true this game uses the same gameplay but that's not a bad thing as it goes with the old saying of if it's not broke don't fix it. So, if you've played the first game you know what to expect with the same realistic control scheme, status screen, and the usual think and strike method. And yes, the difficulty is as usual a bit on the hard side, but it's reasonable as the levels are beatable, this is a game about trial and error where you can't expect to clear the level on the first run, you must give yourself time to figure out what works and doesn't and just simply the best course of action. Let alone it's just always simply fun to do demolition work while riding assault vehicles.
But what makes this sequel stand out are that they had some improvements, for one in each level you get to man not just the chopper but different vehicles in each level. I won't say what they are but each of them runs well and control well much like putting on a different hat that fits. Though you could also say gives you that feeling of playing with another toy assault vehicle from the "G. I. Joe" toy line; seeing this Strike series this would've have made a really cool "G. I. Joe" based video game one solely based on vehicular assault.
Anyway, the variety of vehicles I though helped keep the game fresh. And another thing that keeps the game fresh is the variety in levels. Not to say the first game had no level variety but it was all based-on desert environment.
This game is true to its name as it has the Jungle environment but there are others like one taking place in the night, another the desert again, and others. This also adds another feature to the strategy element which is in adaptation. The first one did have that but mainly from the different layouts of levels to deal with, this one still has that but each of the levels are based on a different environment, which will affect your combat skills so make all the necessary adjustments and you'll make the environment work for you. What also adds to the variety of levels is the fact this game is a little longer than the first which is cool as it increases the challenge but also makes the campaign more satisfying; not to say the first game wasn't but afterward I wished they could have been one more level or two, thought that could just be me as I enjoyed and was immersed so deeply from the first game much like with a good book I wished it didn't end.
This vintage classic has altitude and the firepower for a fun ride.
Rating: 4 stars.
