Salvage is about a killer that gets his just deserts. The cover made me a little uncomfortable, so it took me a while to pick it up. It starts out with the star, a typical teen age girl trying to start her life after high school. She has a job and a boyfriend with a truck and she also goes to college. As the movie rolls along you get little hints about what's going on. But the same day keeps repeating with bad results that only she can remember. Flashbacks and visions get so confusing it starts to detract from the movie until they begin to let the secret loose. A good pertinent sound track that wasn't overpowering as some low budget films tend to do. A nice twist at the end makes it an unusual film well worth seeing.
I have been a horror/thriller enthusiast much of my life and have been requested to both view and opin films from "B-rated" to independent to studio quality. I had heard about "Salvage" from the Sundance reviews, but only recently had the opportunity to view it myself. I found this film extremely well scripted, produced and edited, especially given the limited funding/production costs. Outside of the technical aspects
the cast was outstanding; lending both realism and drama to their characters. The villain and victim were engaging and I found myself empathizing with them both in very different ways. In light of todays hi-tech graphics and computer-generated thrills, Salvage is a credit to its genre. You are intrigued and held hostage to the plot until the final, twisted end. Bravo.

Cheap movie, but really good. The story is better than most horror movies I have seen and I think the actress does an amazing job at her role. Highly recommendable. Personally some parts in this film were truly creepy and they stuck with me. Chilling, and highly entertaining

i love picking up those horror collector sets out of the clearance bins. 5 bucks for 8 or 10 movies. majority of them are strictly B fare... as in bush! entertaining in their own right, but usually pretty forgettable
but... this one was a hidden little gem. well worth the watch. production values are decent; acting is good enough; but its the original story idea that i loved. kept me guessing most of the way through
at least... its not a story idea that i've seen yet, and i've seen hundreds of these. seems like something someone would have done by now
hats off to the writers for coming up with something new

I was flipping through channels one day and I came across Salvage, by the Crook Brothers. There was a girl on the screen who reminded me of Alicia Silverstone being pulled into a basement by a menacing ginger.
I was hooked.
Salvage has some truly tense moments, accompanied by on-the-edge sound effects that seemed giallo-inspired, and solid acting. This movie is one of those rare kind of horror movies where the ending is actually good. And I mean REALLY good! It was a great twist.
This film is proof that a low budget does not have to mean low quality. The plot, and the twist, is well thought out and creative. The acting is surprisingly well done by both killer and victim. He feels genuinely intimidating while she is easy to sympathize with.
The only blemishes on this fine film would be the musical soundtrack, which was jarring with the atmosphere of the movie, and the acting of Claire's boyfriend, Jimmy. It wasn't that Jimmy was acted poorly, it just wasn't as good as the rest of the cast.
