A Thanksgiving favorite starring the Berenstain Bears
ja_kitty_717 October 2021
The Berenstain Bears TV specials and the original book series were part of my childhood. So is the 1985 TV series, and thanks to YouTube, I can relive it. Out of the four TV specials that were made, I really love the holiday specials, including this one, "The Berenstain Bears Meet Bigpaw" for Thanksgiving.

The story goes that around Thanksgiving, Papa Bear and the other bears in Bear Country received word from a bird, a turtle, and a hedgehog that Bear Country's Thanksgiving legend is coming true: Bigpaw is coming! Now the bears prepare for battle. But Brother and Sister Bear had met the gigantic Bigpaw after he saved them from falling off the mixed-nut tree. Will they convince others that Bigpaw means no harm? Well, you'll have to watch it on YouTube-if it's still there, that is.

I really love the entire special. But my favorite scene is where the word Bigpaw comes from the bird, then the turtle, and the hedgehog. And when the hedgehog told the gators of Sinister Bog, even they fled. I also love Bigpaw's song, and you know, it stinks that this Thanksgiving favorite is the only Berenstain Bear TV special that is not on DVD; I wish it was.

Fun Holiday Cartoon For All

Warning: Spoilers
IMDb reviewer Tracy_Terry_Moore is a Grinch. This is a beautifully made animated Thanksgiving special which is fun to watch at any time of the year.

I found this cartoon to be an enlightening pleasure complete with bright and innovative songs. My 5-year old daughter Autumn loves it, so I bought it for her and now she can watch it anytime.

The story involves a monster named Bigpaw who lives in the nearby mountains. The townsfolk soon get to learn more about him when he starts off on his way down to the village.

Colorful animated fun for the whole family.

For very undiscriminating 5-year olds

Warning: Spoilers
Rip-off of 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' where a big beast comes down from above the snow-line to give the bears in town a hard time whenever they start acting greedy..... huh?

Created by Stan and Jan Berenstain. Maybe these two ought to make their own 'Peanuts' cartoon starring themselves as 'Charlie Brown' and his sister 'Sally'..... they could call it 'Pea-brains'. First aired in November of 1980; nothing but a 30-minute chip-shot attempt to manufacture a holiday 'special' to sell as the Thanksgiving equivalent to the Christmas season's 'Grinch'.

This one belongs in permanent hibernation.
