Looks like "The Voice" gave Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke the TV mentoring bug.
ABC has revealed that those three music superstars and Sugarland's frontwoman Jennifer Nettles will serve as mentors and singing partners on "Duets," the network's new signing reality competition that premieres this summer. Though the crowded genre already includes "American Idol," "The Voice," "The X Factor" and "America's Got Talent," "Duets" has its own spin.
According to a press release from ABC, Clarkson, Nettles, Richie and Thicke will search for talent across the country before ultimately choosing two singers as their duet partners. Each week, the stars and their protégés will perform and the eventual winner will get a recording contract with Hollywood Records.
"The simple fact that I get to go out and find two people that I believe in, sing with them every week, and help them accomplish their dream is an...

ABC has picked up Duets, a singing competition starring Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke. On the show, Clarkson, Nettles, Richie and Thicke will individually travel across America looking for undiscovered talent. Ultimately, each star will choose two singers to be his/her duet partners. Together the mentors and their protégés will take the stage each week and perform in front of a live studio audience. In the end, one of the pairs will win, with the amateur getting a recording contract with Hollywood Records. Duets is executive produced by Robert Deaton, while Charles Wachter is co-executive producing. With Duets, ABC is throwing its hat into the music competition series ring. The network joins the CW, which also has a summer singing competition series, the Queen Latifah-produced Star Next Door, where mentors, including Gloria Estefan and John Rich, will each travel the country looking for undiscovered talent.

To say "Xena: Warrior Princess" left a lasting impression on its cultish following would be an understatement. Fans -- this Xenite included -- have followed series star Lucy Lawless, who eventually found her way back in the time of ancient gods, warlords and kings in Starz's "Spartacus: Vengeance."
Lawless has put down the body armor and weapons in favor of flowing gowns and hair accessories as Lucretia, but it's not exactly a stress-free life for the former first lady of the House of Batiatus. Lucretia has had her world turned upside down and suffered tragedies (including the death of her unborn child) that have all taken a toll on her psyche.
"She has every right to be out of her mind given that she's gone through such complete loss," Lawless told HuffPost TV in a phone interview from her home in New Zealand. "It was the destruction of her entire world,...

Spartacus kicks off again tonight with a new season, a new title (Spartacus: Vengeance) and a new leading man (Liam McIntyre, taking over for Andy Whitfield). But don’t worry, the show hasn’t changed too much. After all, there are still plenty of orgies, decapitations, and decapitations during orgies! In celebration of the Starz drama’s return this evening, McIntyre and costar Lucy Lawless stopped by the InsideTV Podcast, and wouldn’t you know it — all hell broke loose! In addition to discussing the ins and outs — no pun intended — of season 2 (which included McIntyre stabbing a man in...

We've met part of the "Dancing With the Stars" Season 12 cast already. Who's going to be joining the likes of Ralph Macchio, Petra Nemcova and Sugar Ray Leonard on stage?
We're glad you asked: Here's the second group of celebs who will compete for the mirror-ball trophy.
Kendra Wilkinson: The former Playboy model now has her own show on E!
Hines Ward: The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver is a former Super Bowl Mvp and four-time Pro Bowl selection.
Mike Catherwood: Easily the least known face in the cast, but you might know his voice: Catherwood, aka Psycho Mike, is the co-host of "Loveline."
Wendy Williams: The talk-show host is our early pick for biggest train-wreck potential this season.
Chris Jericho: The ex-wwe champ (and former participant in Fox's "Celebrity Duets") is funny and, we expect, light on his feet. He could be a sleeper.

Lets face it, as television viewers we grow attached to the gay characters that resonate with us on the small screen, and with the actors that bring life to these roles. We also find ourselves growing fond of out-and-proud actors that have opted to play it straight thats why its called acting, people and vice versa.
So when their shows are cancelled or taken off the air before they wear out their welcome (whatever, I still miss Sex and the City on Sunday nights, ok?), it can be a little bit difficult to see them slide into other TV roles easier than Lindsay Lohan checking into another rehab (Im rootin for you, girl).
Alas, sometimes that isnt always the case, which might have you asking yourself, Where are they now? In some cases for these actors, it could be taken as a query of, Where did they disappear to?
But for curiosity's (and manner's) sake,...

Amy Ryan will be spending time in a different kind of office in the coming TV season.
The Oscar-nominated actress ("Gone Baby Gone") has taken a role in the third season of HBO's drama "In Treatment," Deadline.com reports. She'll be playing Paul's (Gabriel Byrne) new therapist, taking over for Dianne Wiest's character. Ryan joins Debra Winger as a newcomer to the series.
Fans of "The Office" are still holding out hope that Ryan will reprise her role as the love of Michael's (Steve Carell) life, Holly. Her possible return was teased in the season finale last month, but the show hasn't made any formal plans for a return appearance. It's not clear yet how her "In Treatment" commitment might affect her availability for other parts.
- WWE star Chris Jericho will be making the leap from pro-wrestling champ to game-show host.

Lucy Lawless is back!
Actually, she never really left. Since hanging up her chakram as Xena, Warrior Princess, in 2001, she's kept plenty busy, appearing in roles like the Number Three cylon on Battlestar Galatica and her crowd-pleasing runner-up finish on Celebrity Duets in 2006. She's also popped up in television guest spots on everything from The L-Word to CSI: Miami.
But now she's back to episodic television full-time, in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, a CGI-intensive retelling of the story of the rebel slave Spartacus, premiering January 22nd on the Starz network, a premium cable channel.
While her role as the wife of the owner of a gladiator school is very unlike that of Xena, and the show itself has a far more serious tone, Spartacus is very much another high fantasy series set in the ancient world. It was co-created (along with Spider-Man director Sam Raimi) by her husband Rob Tapert,...

I’ve been thinking about sexuality a lot lately, which is different than thinking about sex, but not by much.
Why are most men the way they are about sex — and so different from most women? Are gay men different from straight men? And what does the internet have to do with it?
Interesting questions, no? Even if they're not, the subject of "Male Sexuality" gives me an excuse to write about sex in this week’s edition of the Best.Gay.Week.Ever!
How Sexual Are You?
In order to get in the mood, let’s begin with a brief quiz, shall we? (Fyi, the quiz program won't let me use "dirty" words — words like "sex".)

TORONTO -- Three new U.S. dramas and Simon Cowell's new reality show Duets seized the spotlight Thursday as Canadian broadcaster Chum Ltd. unveiled its new fall schedule at its upfront presentation in Toronto. Toronto-based Chum, just back from its annual buying expedition at the Los Angeles Screenings, freshened its fall schedule with the CBS drama Jericho and ABC's telenovela-inspired comedy Ugly Betty -- both of which will be simulcast with their U.S. network air-dates. That strategy contrasts with last year when Chum purchased UPN's Everybody Hates Chris for its fall schedule, even though UPN doesn't air in Ontario, the country's most lucrative TV market, heavily discounting the sitcom's lucrative simulcast potential.
NEW YORK -- Fox Broadcasting Co. is ready to join the fray on Thursdays in the fall. The network announced a new comedy block featuring Brad Garrett and an unscripted creation from Simon Cowell for the night at its upfront presentation Thursday at the Armory. 'Til Death, a sitcom with the former Everybody Loves Raymond star, and another half-hour comedy, Happy Hour, will launch in the Thursday 8-9 p.m. slots in the fall. Cowell's new reality series, Duets, also will get a four-week run on Thursday and Friday before the baseball playoffs arrive on Fox.
