"The Secret of the Telescope" is yet another typical episode, a man using something he now has to gain power, wealth or revenge. This time, a telescope owned by Paul Kessler (Charles Nolte, also seen in "A Gift of Murder" and "The Book of Ghouls") displays the ability to look into the future, allowing him the opportunity to dispatch his nagging wife (Lorri Scott, also seen in "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife" and "Black Nemesis"). A conversation with his neighbor (Sydney Coulson, also seen in "Never Steal a Warlock's Wife" and "Black Nemesis") reveals that his home was the site of several previous murders, the most recent by an unfaithful spouse. He purchases a bottle of rat poison because he knows how fond she is of the bottle, but his own demons get the better of him and the scheme backfires in painfully dull fashion. No explanation is offered on the so-called secret, resulting in strictly by-the-numbers predictable plotting.

Doomed telescope
searchanddestroy-19 May 2011
It takes place in a northern Europe town. A couple in crisis buy a telescope during a biding sale, a sale by auction. And the man, who wants to get rid of his wife, finds out that the telescope he bought could be useful to somethings he is interested in. For instance kill the poor woman. During the whole episode, you wonder what is going to follow in the next minutes, and that's very intriguing. You wonder what the husband has in his head to waste his wife. Not a horror topic, but very effective indeed. Only the ending is strange and rather offbeat. It's worth for anyone who doesn't know this TV show from Sweden.
I did not get it all.
