  Michelle Dessler : I'm not: you ran CTU for two years. Anything you have to say, I will consider seriously

  Tony Almeida : Don't worry, I'm going to tell you what I think whether you want to hear it or not, alright?

  Michelle Dessler : Good

• James Heller : [Addressing CTU staff]  for those of you that don't know: this is Michelle Dessler, she'll be taking over as acting Director of CTU effective immediately. Tony, I appreciate you "carrying the ball" until Michelle got here, why don't you bring her and everyone else up to speed?

  Tony Almeida : Yes sir, less than an hour ago, we discovered the man responsible for planning today's attacks Habib Marwan has been a long term employee McLennan-Forrester, the third largest defense contractor in the country. Now we know Marwan has been using the alias "Harris Barnes", what we don't know yet is how he managed to evade their security checks, Marwan knows we're looking for him so his probably gone "dark". His association with McLennan-Forrester is our primary focus, Jack Bauer and Paul Raines went to the company to inspect his computer files but as they were doing so an electromagnetic pulse bomb was detonated wiping out the company's database

  Sarah Gavin : It also fried every electrical device within an eight mile radius. Street lights, computers, cars, cell phones, everything

  Michelle Dessler : Were Jack and Paul able to find anything before detonation?

  Tony Almeida : Yeah but we weren't able to contact them since the blast. We have to assume whoever detonated the EMP "thinks" Jack and Paul found something and wants them eliminated

  Michelle Dessler : Have rescue teams been sent into the area?

  Tony Almeida : Not yet. Once we confirmed the effects subsided, we'll send two full teams in with fully functional electronics, the only problem is until we find Jack and Paul, we're not going to be able to do much

  Michelle Dessler : [to the CTU staff]  we want to do everything we can to find Jack Bauer and Paul Raines but the priority to retrieve any information they found at McLennan-Forrester, that's all

• Michelle Dessler : [Before he hands her the access card]  I need the access codes for CTU and Division

  Tony Almeida : What'd you need me to do?

  Michelle Dessler : Division's sending over a supplemental list of terrorists supposedly had contact with Habib Marwan, I want you to check any names that have been flagged by other agencies including overseas

  Tony Almeida : Given what's happening right now, it doesn't seem like the best use of my time

  Michelle Dessler : It has to be done and I'd like you to do it

  Tony Almeida : Jack and Paul may have information vital to ending this crisis: I should be helping us find them

  Michelle Dessler : Last time I saw you, you couldn't stay sober long enough to keep a job

  Tony Almeida : That was six months ago

  Michelle Dessler : This is what I need you to do, if don't like it, you can resign

  Tony Almeida : [after thinking it over]  I'm going to need a security clearance

  Michelle Dessler : I'll make sure you get a Level Three

  Tony Almeida : Level Three? I used to have a Six

  Michelle Dessler : Right now? All you need is Three

• Audrey Raines : [after she overheard them arguing]  is there a problem with Agent Almeida?

  Michelle Dessler : Not at all

  Audrey Raines : It's just that Secretary Heller is very "sensitive" to personal conflicts on the job. I know your history, I know you guys were married and he sacrificed his career to save your life but if this is going to be a problem...

  Michelle Dessler : [Interrupts her]  his being here won't affect my work, I won't let it: if Secretary Heller wants to speak to me about it, I'll be more than glad to

• Sarah Gavin : You're aware I was falsely accused of leaking information earlier today?

  Michelle Dessler : Yes, I saw the report

  Sarah Gavin : Erin Driscoll didn't talk to you about it? Or leave a memo?

  Michelle Dessler : Her daughter died today, I think she has other things on her mind

  Sarah Gavin : I understand but there still some "things" that need to be "handled"

  Michelle Dessler : [Confused]  what "things"?

  Sarah Gavin : Well, she promised the accusations would be expunged from my record and I'd be bumped up two pay grades as compensation so I just want to make sure that would still happen

  Michelle Dessler : I'll look into it but not today

  Sarah Gavin : What happened to me was an outrage. Now if you don't do something to resolve it right now, I'll go directly to Secretary Heller

  Michelle Dessler : [Stands up from her desk]  Secretary Heller doesn't run CTU, I do and I am ordering you to go back to work

  Sarah Gavin : Not until you assure me the false be expunged and my pay grade changed

  Michelle Dessler : [after picking up the phone]  I need security over to station one

  Sarah Gavin : Security? What for?

  Michelle Dessler : I need people whose minds are on their job: yours isn't

  Sarah Gavin : Oh, so you're firing me? You can't do that, you need me, I'm juggling active protocol

  Michelle Dessler : We'll manage

• Tony Almeida : [after entering her office]  Jack and Paul are ok

  Michelle Dessler : What about the information?

  Tony Almeida : We don't know if Jack has it but even if he does, we don't know if it's going to bring us any closer to finding Marwan

  Michelle Dessler : We know McLennan-Forrester is involved, that should yield some leads

  Tony Almeida : That's going to have to be worked up here because McLennan-Forrester's computers were all knocked out by the EMP

  Michelle Dessler : You want to head that up?

  Tony Almeida : No, you know what? You should let Curtis handle that

  Michelle Dessler : Alright, I will. I shouldn't have said that earlier about your drinking, that was out of line. I'm sorry

  Tony Almeida : You don't owe me an apology: my life right now... let's just that I've been better, quite frankly seeing you here today has only made things worse. Look, I'm going to leave, get out of your hair, and let you do your job alright?

  Michelle Dessler : No, we can't afford to lose you, not today

  Tony Almeida : You sure?

  Michelle Dessler : Yes I'm sure
