Poor David is desperate for his parent's support during a school drama performance, but two random events see the pair bizarrely engaged elsewhere. I always really enjoyed this episode because it's so utterly surreal, not many writers would have the imagination to come up with something like this now, Ben trapped in Portmeirion, a place I used to visit as a child, Bill and Rona discovering Shirley Bassey's costume store room.
It's a mix of silly, outrageous and totally off the wall, not the funniest, but hugely memorable. The Hey Big spender sketch is great, as is the opening.
