Just okay

Warning: Spoilers
Acting was pretty good, plot was pretty good, girls were a lot better than good; but, the music was jazzy pop, the characters were standard, except for Biff Elliot (Buddy) and Maureen Leeds (Lorna), and a well played sleezebag Benny Baker (I think it was Sam). Trumpet player on the run, accidentally discovered, big career ahead, local hood and con looking for him. He doesn't want trouble, it finds him, he gets lucky, his producer doesn't, has to fight it out, wins, gets the girl. Stayed up for it, wish I hadn't.

A paralyzing fear
bkoganbing10 June 2017
Trumpeter Biff Elliott is one of those public service clients that Bailey&Spencer take on. Elliott seems on the cusp of a great musical career in jazz. But he's got a paralyzing fear that there's someone out there trying to kill him.

There is. Barry Russo who has history with Elliott and just came out of a 7 year stretch in prison has it in for him. What their issue is you watch the episode for. But Roger Smith has to go to New Orleans for answers and he has to be very persuasive to get them.

There's also Jerry Paris a club owner who wants to exploit Elliott's talent and keep him around for a while and he doesn't care what he has to do to keep him at his jazz club.

This is a good episode and Russo is unforgettable as a man who knows how to keep a grudge.
