What a great start

This was a great first episode of a beloved show I'm only just discovering.

A priest father has to contend with all manner of things with his five kids in this episode, and it's all dealt with in a sincere, charming and often funny way.

I look forward to further episodes.

I like the show, but...

I remember liking this show when I was young, but a rewatch of this pilot episode a few things really stood out as weird and creepy to me.

In no particular order: Mary tries to get her brother to kiss her?!?

Lucy is really looking forward to getting her period?!?

Lucy's crush is prince Charles, who at the time of this episode was about 50 and around the same age as her father?!? At the time this aired I remember prince William (and to a lesser degree Harry) being sort of teen heartthrobs, but Charles, not so much.

These things really take me out of the story. Not sure I can keep going on this show.
