This was quite a heavy-handed attempt to flesh out the character of Annie a little more, and on the whole it just about works.
Far more interesting/well done though was the Matt storyline, which was very moving. Barry Watson as Matt did a wonderful job, and it's a shame he's never really gone onto massive stardom.
