A Nice Place to Visit
It is the series finale and we see The A Team don military uniforms to attend the funeral of a Vietnam war buddy Ray Brenner who has died.
However no one else in the town is attending, the notorious Watkins family has banned the locals and anyone else from attending as they had some beef with Brenner.
The A Team give Brenner a good send off which includes flashbacks on how he helped out the various members of The A Team. Archive footage was used from the movie The Green Beret, including the slang Charlie for the Vietcong.
Ted Markland and Don Stroud play two of the Watkins brothers. They own the local garage, the only petrol pump in town and use their recovery truck to take BA's van off the road.
The locals hate them and the Sheriff is too weak to do anything about them. They also have eyes on the pretty cafe owner's daughter and later plan to rape Amy. A real bunch of charmers!
There are several scenes in the cafe where the Watkins pester the cafe owner's daughter. Makes you think what have they been doing for all these years. Left her alone?
Not sure threatening to rape Amy is comfortable family viewing. Also this town needs a new sheriff, the present one is incompetent if he allows women to be raped.
Obviously this episode is inspired by movies such as Deliverance and Straw Dogs. Just to make sure the odds are evened up a little, The A Team manage to lose their weapons.
