While playing "Scrabble" with the Tanner family, ALF uses the word "Quidnunc", which he claims is a Melmacian word for "one who wears meat". He is challenged on the word, but when Willie checks the dictionary, he finds it is an actual word meaning "an inquisitive and gossipy person".
The 'Donald Tramp's book' which Lynn fears causes writer's cramp in a certain aging and dyslexic last-nameless substitute novelist is apparently a reference to Donald Trump's first book 'Trump: The Art of the Deal' (1987). It was published almost exactly one year before this episode aired and held a position on The New York Times Best Seller list for 48 weeks. Ironically, a visitor of this book signing would take home a book written by Tony Schwartz and signed by Eddie.
Willie notes an apparent misspelling in Eddie's demonstration signature of Lee Iacocca's name, adding the crime of mediocrity to age and a shady job.
