Life in Big Pete's world is going along nicely but then he gets his school schedule and he is assigned to 'shop' something he has be avoiding since getting into high school. He is going to have survive the entire semester without getting a finger cut off or an eye damaged all while hoping it can pass the class with a 'C'.
The teacher, Mr Slurm, is a hard-nose type of guy with no sense of humor. Somewhere along the way Mr Slurp lost his left wrist in some type of accident. Of course it is easy to say that he lost the wrist in some kind of horrible shop class incident but the reason is never revealed. He is also a man that can hook-up miscellaneous attachments to his injured wrist that he will use throughout the day.
As Pete is just trying to skate through the class, for some reason, Mr Slurm picks Pete for a special project in the class. But when Mr Slurm will not reveal the exact details of the project, Pete believes the project may have been for something evil. As the class nears the end, the project has been built but still unknown to Pete. Pete is so worried that the device he helped make may be used against human-kind that he is determined to know what he helped build even if it means breaking into shop class at night.
A well written script and a nicely directed show. From Endless Mike being a shop student regular to Teddy wearing a hair-net, this show had humorous dialog and gags that was entertaining from beginning to end. Jude Ciccolella was perfectly cast as the strange shop class teacher with a hard exterior but with an inner soft side. Good watch.
