Here is another memorable episode as it's the middle of summer and all the kids are waiting on the ice cream man named Mr Tastee for a taste of a big blue tornado bar and its cooling effects. Everything would have been great but when Ellen, who is working at a photo booth, opens Mr Tastee's pictures it appears that Mr Tastee is a lonely man. So Pete, Pete and Ellen decide that they will become friends with the man in the cream mask.
But things do not go as planned. It seems that being an ice cream man is suppose to be a lonely job. And when you start considering customers as friends then you lose the reason that ice cream men are so revered in summer. Mr Tastee decides to leave town before he gets too close to the gang.
Once you watch this episode you will always remember the character Mr Tastee. It is an enjoyable episode that is fun to watch for kids and adults. There is also two cameos that is worth mentioning. Katie Pierson, from the B-52's, and Michael Stipe, from REM, make an appearance on this Nickelodeon series.
The episode is sentimental in many ways, one being the feeling at the end of summer. But, to me, one of the funniest things in the show was when Dad finds a Cutlass Supreme buried in the sand with his trusty metal detector. The family digs out the car and jumps in for a ride-- that is a very funny scene. Overall a very nice episode that was very well directed with top-notch acting. An episode to remember.
