Rusty learns that women are trouble, for him.
pensman25 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Rinty spots a band of Indians and alert Master's patrol. The Apaches are meeting together to pick a new chief. Hassini, who wants war, plans on being the next chief; when he confronts Masters and throws a spear, Rinty takes him down. Hasinni rides away but vows to get even.

The troopers return to the fort and Rusty finds himself on KP. Drums announce a new chief has been picked; and the stage arrives early. Mrs. Carver and her daughter Susan are traveling to another fort to be reunited with Mrs. Carver's husband.

Mrs. Carver is amused that Rusty thinks he is a soldier; Masters tells Mrs. Carver, he sees Rusty as a soldier. Susan wants to see some of the sights, but everyone has been ordered to remain in the fort. By more or less teasing Rusty, Susan urges him to take her to the Indian burial ground. While there, they witness Hassini kill the new chief; then Rinty is wounded with an arrow. Rusty and Susan are taken but Rinty gets back to the fort.

Masters rides into the Apache camp and accuses the current Indian chief of taking the children, then Hassini rides into camp and claims soldiers killed the new chief. Hassini says he has the children, and he will kill them unless the killer of the new chief is brought to him. A real threat as we know Hassini is the killer.

Susan is terrified, but Rusty tries to assure her. At the fort, Rinty has recovered and takes Masters and Boone to where the children are being held. Rinty is sent to get to Rusty by stealth, giving Masters and Boone time to get into a better position. Rinty gets into the teepee and unties Rusty. When Hassini tries to grab the children, Rinty attacks. Masters and Boone shoot the other Indians. Hassini confesses, but Rusty is in trouble for leaving the fort: he has KP for two weeks. No more women for Rusty, maybe.
