Fair Play

Robin Hood is still away in France. A group of Bavarian acrobats are travelling through Sherwood forest and set up camp for the night.

One of the Merrie men watches the acrobats perform for the Nottingham fair and is impressed.

It gives them the idea to go to the Nottingham fair and see their families. All they need to do is pretend to be the acrobats.

Herr Mielke the head of the acrobats agrees to leave three of his men behind for the right price. Little John reluctantly agrees to the plan.

Only the fortune teller Madame Zsa Zsa finds out that has taken place. She rushes to inform the Sheriff of Nottingham who has them men arrested.

Robin Hood returns to Sherwood forest and hears the bad news. He takes the rest if the acrobats to mount a rescue mission.

Slightly inspired by the Oscar winning, The Greatest Show on Earth. The acrobats are good fun. The Merrie men seemed to be a different bunch of actors entirely. Paul Eddington never convinced me that he learned how to tumble.
