A very enjoyable one off drama.

Adam Clay has had enough of being part of The UK, and decides to declare himself an independent state, a legal loophole allows him to do it, but people are out to get him from all angles.

You can't beat the system, it doesn't matter who's in power, you can't beat them, and we all know things are bad, Liz Truss has just become The PM, I'd love to declare myself an independent state, but you get given a hand, and have to make the best.

Hugh Quarshie is great here, a very competent, sincere performance, I don't remember him looking as fit as this!! Ably supported by Claire Goose and Nina Sosanya, I thought Tony Haygarth was terrific.

An interesting, very original story, great character play, poor Adam was betrayed by everyone, even those closest to him, no wonder he wanted to run away from them, they're a devious bunch.

A very interesting watch.

8/10.
