Airwolf - Day of Jeopardy
Scarecrow-8823 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Seen last as a different character in the second season, Anne Lockhart returns to "Airwolf" as a pregnant (from an Arab prince no less after an affair) wife to a powerful Clu Gulager, remaining on his yacht for details on her demise. Lockhart's Tess Dixon hoped that marriage to Gulager's Cullen Dixon would bring her fame and fortune, an oversight she later regrets due to his possessiveness and obsessive nature. She has testimony against her husband and his associates (including none other than G. Gordon Liddy!) who plan to execute high level "dignitaries and members of the government" so they can control international banks and world currency (quite a James Bond villain agenda!). Plot is secondary to String and Santini's need to avoid a constant onslaught and barrage of various attacks, from choppers to jets to ground warfare, hoping to succeed in their mission to carry Mrs. Dixon all the way to D.C. Liddy's Barkley Kase assures Cullen that one way or another his forces would stop the Airwolf and its crew, sparing no expense to assassinate Tess. Included is a surprising subplot involving a past between Tess and String, romantically even with a terminated pregnancy! Sure didn't see all this coming, although String's strong reaction to Tess (and vice versa) sure speaks volumes. However, there is a very dramatically potent moment between String and Tess regarding their youth, the baby she decided to abort, the current pregnancy she wants to keep from harm, and his promise to her that she would make it all the way to the committee to testify safely. String hops a motorbike, boarding a runaway diesel as Tess tries to avoid being gunned down (like the truck driver who thought this was his lucky day when she got into his cab!) while a truck of men with machine guns tries to stop them...so this episode is indeed action-oriented. There is even a clever sequence where the Airwolf appears to have crashed into an exploding heap to the earth only for String to surprise two jets with a rocket launcher that destroys both of them! To give the episode some suspense, the Airwolf is momentarily grounded which led to Kase orchestrating the ground attack, leading to a chopper firing at them (and nearly hitting Tess who must hide behind a skinny tree). Santini gets to play hero, operating the Airwolf, as String, from the ground below, roots him on. With each failure, Kase must answer to a disapproving Cullen, threatened if he doesn't figure out a solution. There is multiple surprises like a close member of the F.I.R.M who is a traitor and Kase's actual position in the government...good tension milked in both cases because Tess is endangered each time due to close contact. Much like their previous pairing, Jan-Michael Vincent and Lockhart have really good chemistry, and Vincent even stretches his range during that key scene with her in the truck cab, a tear even welling, complete with sympathetic reaction. Overall the episode has a little bit of everything. Caitlin is nowhere to be found, however. Gulager is a capable heavy, showing the impatience with Kase and frustrations when things don't go according to plan, including losing his wife.

Anne Lockhart's second of three appearances on the TV series
CCsito31 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This was one of the better episodes from the TV series that kept you guessing about Anne Lockhart's character. She gets to act out being upset and under strain for most of the episode. The plot involves a wife (and former girlfriend of Hawke) who escapes away from her mob husband by swimming away and then agrees to testify against him. She has a past history with Hawke which makes the situation more complicated. Hawke and Dominic are tasked to bring her to Washington, DC to testify. Her husband and his accomplices look to stop her. There is someone who works for her husband who is with the firm. Airwolf is attacked by fighter jets and other helicopters who seem to know where it is flying. Anne Lockhart's character eventually reveals the true reason for escaping from her husband. Hawke helps to get her to the Capitol to testify. G. Gordon Liddy has a role as one of the mobster accomplices who happen to have a high level government position. He also hires others to try to stop the mobster's wife from testifying. The end has a twist which made me think about the Watergate scandal and whether Liddy would have taken the same action. Anne also gets to wear a bathing suit in this episode, so you get to see more of her figure.
