Joe Mantell stars as businessman Stan Lockhart, who has been contacted that his estranged father is now terminally ill, and needs to see him at once. Stan then heads out to his father's home in Maine with his own doctor, but is surprised to learn that his father doesn't appear to be sick, but instead believes that it will be his death day because a local stonecutter named Menzies(played by Walter Burke) reputedly has the morbid knack for predicting the death dates for select citizens, and puts that date on their gravestones! Now a believer, Stan tries to stop the stonecutter any way he can with tragic results... Effective episode with good acting and memorable setting.

One more worth seeing episode from this exceptional TV show from the late fifties and early sixties. I won't repeat the topic already told above, but yes, it gives you the envy to watch it. In this line of schemes of unexplained events, you may have many, thousands of possibilities to surprise audiences. And chances to have deception are very low. Of, course you may sometimes feel skeptical, facing improbable sequences, but that doesn't prevent you to enjoy these amazing stories. Nothing exceptional here, if you compare to the other episodes of the series. it remains worth seeing, although it is not the best of the whole series.
