stubborned Corporal wants to bury his Captain

Warning: Spoilers
I discovered the name of Joseph H Lewis in 1984 when Gun Crazy was (re?)released in France. That was a shock to me, the story and the cinematography. Next, I watched The Big Combo, even a stronger shock, I discovered the name of John Alton the cinematographer. And I wanted to see all Joseph H. Lewis movies, just to discover others virtuoso ways of filming, like the introduction of Lady without passport. His other movies are not as brilliant as Gun Crazy and The Big Combo, but they are often interesting.

I looked after his TV movies too, real hard-to-find, some have the reputation to be very inventive . It took me twenty years to find this Corporal Hardy, written by the great Stirling Silliphant, and the story is quite strong, but no inventive shots by Joeph H. Lewis (except one).

During a battle in the American Civil War, Nordist Captain gets shot, his soldiers retreat. The Corporal Hardy was devoted to his Captain, so he decides to go back in the Confederate lines to bury his Captain, but this will not be easy. Very short tale (22 minutes) with lot of humanity, a great lesson.

To Jacques, he passed away the day I received and saw this rare gem, he was an awful good man too.
