Breaks 2 bad episodes streak

Shaky at first. Then, got funny when Archie dyed his hair, and explains to Edith about signing up as a donor. Witty writing carried out well by the cast. CC's Archie character still has life, but the scripts appear very inconsistent in season 6 so far. Good casting of Don Randolph as the creepy donor rep.

Archie and Jaws
stones7819 December 2013
Don't be misled by the summary title, as Jaws is mentioned just once by Archie, as he's commenting to Edith about Mike's rush to the kitchen to get some food, for which Archie says something about Edith calling the coast guard because Jaws is in the kitchen. Since this is an episode from 1975, and the very popular Jaws came out only a few months earlier, it's refreshing to see such a great film mentioned in popular culture. Regarding the main plot, Archie dyes his hair black(he calls it a rinse instead)to look younger so he can get a promotion at work; he also hears that boss Mr. Sanders(Sorrell Booke)is involved in a local charity, and Archie signs up in order to impress his boss, although what he doesn't know is that he signed up to be an organ donor. Look for a few character actors in Donald Randolph(Mr. Scott), as this was his final acting appearance, and the lone appearance of J.A. Preston as Black Elmo, who was the one that told Archie about the charity. A funny moment has Archie waking from a nightmare about God being sore at him because since he gave his organs away, God is mad that Archie doesn't have the parts in him that God intended; in the same dream, evil doctors are stealing parts from him, and the people who are getting those parts are breaking commandments left and right. I'm starting to ramble too much here, but let me add that this is a terrific episode, and even better that there's no Gloria to be found, but it turns out that everything Archie did was for nothing. I definitely recommend this episode, as the show is in top form.
