...in heavy syrup

Barnard Hughes is stellar as Fr. John Majeski. Archie is no match for his wit. Archie goes after Catholics, Jews , and Italians. Jean Stapleton is delightful telling her account of the accident.

Warning: Spoilers
Hmmmm Hmmmm Hmmmm....in Heavy Syrup! Something that only Jean Stapleton can deliver when paired up with Carol O'Connor in All In The Family. We started re-watching All In The Family after probably 30 years since it was broadcast. But I remember the Cling Peaches in Heavy Syrup episode! OMG! I was so looking forward to re-watching it!

Hilarious episode about Edith and canned cling peaches
Jimmy_the_Gent430 October 2017
Edith is at the supermarket parking lot and her shopping cart gets away from her and hits a parked car. She leaves a note with her name, address and phone number much to Archie's disapproval.

This is a classic episode in which Edith tells the story about the can of cling peaches which damages the hood of the car.It was the first time we get a sense of Edith's story telling ability which always drives Archie crazy. The laughs keep coming when Archie discovers the car owner is a priest but is still suspicious of him. The priest (Barnard Hughes) puts Archie in his place. This definitely ranks as one of the best episodes and established Edith's character as honest though at times naive, often exasperating the loud and cynical Archie.
