As the Eureka Maru returns from a mission to acquire spare parts it is boarded by an escape pod; inside there is a dying Perseid. Just before he dies he grabs Harper and does something to his data-port. Shortly afterwards two things happen; first Harper suddenly shows a knowledge of languages and technology, as well as having terrible visions of human suffering; secondly a bounty hunter turns up claiming to be looking for the Perseid. After getting his hands on the body he realises that what he really wants is no longer there... after that he turns his attentions to Harper. It isn't long before the crew realise that he wants something in Harper's brain... exactly what that could be isn't obvious though.
This was an enjoyable episode; it was good to see all the main cast appearing again and Harper made a good central character. Gordon Michael Woolvett does a fine job as Harper; he is impressively manic as he accesses more of his new knowledge. This episode introduces an intriguing new antagonist; listed in the credits simply as 'Enigma' almost nothing is revealed about what it is or its motives but it is certainly menacing. We also get a couple more hints at Trance Gemini's mysterious nature. There are some good action scenes; both fights and an attack on Andromeda Ascendant.
