The Old Commonwealth survives on a single remote planet
Tweekums1 June 2018
While supervising training for a member of the new Commonwealth an unidentified ship appears. It turns out to be a High Guard slip fighter; its pilot says that he has come from a remote planet populated by survivors of the fall of the Commonwealth. This includes descendants of Andromeda's old crew and of Dylan's fiancée. When Andromeda gets to the planet her crew are treated like heroes and they assume the colony will quickly sign up to the new commonwealth... however there are those who think that would be a bad idea; these include a Nietzschean who is genetically identical to the friend who betrayed Dylan in the first episode.

This episode was rather fun as it gave us a look at what the old commonwealth looked like and how it was run. It also asks the question as to whether Dylan should trust somebody who is genetically the same as somebody who betrayed him. This detail proves interesting but is used as an excuse to show moments from the original episode a bit too much. The story featured some good unexpected twists as we learn who is behind underhand attempts to swing opinion on joining the new commonwealth. The regular cast are on good form and there are solid guest performances from Steve Bacic as the Nietzschean Telemachus Rhade and Françoise Yip as Rekel Ben-Tzion, a senior politician hoping to join the new commonwealth. Overall not the most action packed episode but it is still pretty good.
