In this episode, Opie doesn't know how old Aunt Bee is. However, in "Those Gossipin' Men (1961)", he was about to blurt out her age before being hushed.
Mrs Lukens would have put the bed jacket in a pretty, lingerie-sized box and wrapped it with beautiful, dainty gift wrap, tied with a ribbon and a bow. Yet Aunt Bee believes the big, heavy, utilitarian grocer's box contains the bed jacket.
The name on the front of the clothing store is "Luken's Style Shop", as if the owner's family name is "Luken". But Aunt Bee refers to the owner as "Mrs. Lukens", while Andy greets her as "Miss Lukens" and refers to the store as "Miss Lukens's", making the "S" sound in the owner's family name.
Two-dozen Mason jars, packed like that, would weigh >20 pounds. Aunt Bee had no way of knowing that--but Frances Bavier and the rest of the cast and crew did. Aunt Bee is on a sofa, with the big box diagonally some distance in front of her on the coffee table. In real life, most people who think the next box they're opening contains a 3-ounce bed jacket, would put it on their lap or, at least, move it closer on the table. But Aunt Bee awkwardly stretches across the table to open the gift. She does nothing that would betray its weight, like slide it closer or place it on her lap. Andy, who is sitting on the sofa next to Aunt Bee, would normally pick up the gift (especially since he knows it's heavy), saying something like "here, let me help you, Aunt Bee," but he strangely just sits there.
