- [John and Kathy are being married]
- Reverend Mills: These two persons present come now to be joined. If any man can show just cause why they may not be lawfully, let him speak or hereafter forever hold his peace.
- [sounds of gunfire in the street outside break up the wedding ceremony]
- [Annie explains her wild plan for capturing the bank robbers to Lofty]
- Annie Oakley: Annie, if I didn't know you better, I'd say you'd been out in the sun too long.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: But?
- Annie Oakley: But I know you better. Let's go.
- Tagg Oakley: He sure doesn't look like a killer, does it, Annie?
- Annie Oakley: No, he doesn't, Tagg. But neither did Billy the Kid.
- John Robbins: Will Davis is guilty.
- Kathy Stokes: Isn't that for the jury to decide?
- John Robbins: They will.
- Kathy Stokes: Well, what are you writing now? Their decision?
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Friendship between men's a deep and curious bond. It's hard to explain but it wins wars, it makes a man willing to die to keep a man alive. Now, John's just lost a friend, he's fighting back for what he thinks killed him.
- Annie Oakley: Would he do what he's done?
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Can't say, Annie. Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. I don't know. All I can do is understand how John feels.
- Annie Oakley: Well, when you're hunting, it sure helps to be able to think like whatever it is you're hunting.
- Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Been fired. Not too long ago.
- Will Davis: That's right. I fired it at a rattler back a few miles.
- McAndrews: Three times?
- Will Davis: Three times. Ever tried shooting a rattler sitting atop a spooked horse?
- Will Davis: Did you ever hear of a bad luck Joe?
- Annie Oakley: Yes.
- Will Davis: I'm one of them. You know when things go bad for a man, one bad thing after another seems to follow him. For instance, take the time I waited in line for four hours to try and get a job herding cattle for the Government. And, just as I got up to the table, you know what happened?
- Annie Oakley: No?
- Will Davis: The man said there's no more jobs. Then I was punching for cattle for three months for a rancher. One day he rode out on the range, and said, Davis, I been foreclosed, I got no money. Well, I'll tell you about another job, four days' ride away from here. So I got on my horse and rode. For two days, and my horse went lame.
- Will Davis: I told you once before you was wrong about me. You're gonna have to kill me to take me this time.
- John Robbins: That won't be hard.
