A Treasure
sandvette913 October 2020
I can't believe I never even heard of this show! If it hadn't been for this Start Network on a non cable channel I still wouldn't have found it. We pay a fortune for DirecTV and I'm watching free shows on an antenna. What's wrong with this picture. Any Day Now is definitely a treasure of a show. With Lorraine Touisant and Annie Potts it should have been given more than 88 episodes. The writing is great especially with the actors that were chosen for this series. It takes place in Alabama at the start of the Civil rights movement and it's about two young girls who have become best friends. One is white and one is black and the stories, some parts in the past and also in the present make up the plot of every show. The stars of the young Renee and ME (Mary Elizabeth) are both terrific actors too. Each episode I have seen so far is a treasure. The supporting actors are ones you have probably seen before in other roles and they really shine in this series. The episode I just watched was about them going back to a high school reunion which most people can identify with no matter how many years go by. If you haven't seen this show yet try to make a plan to see this wonderful hidden treasure.
